Office 365 Account Locked

I tried to access one of my outlook.com accounts which is under my Office 365 suscription. I replied to an email from my mom, and it would not send. It was then that I had difficulty accessing the account - even through Authenticator. It wanted to send me an SMS message to confirm who I was. I tried twice (I received the messages and entered the code). Still, I was having issues - it accepted the SMS code, but the error resurfaced. Then I got a message that the terms of service were being violated (they aren't). It would no longer send SMS messages. I initiated the account recovery process.
But I am impatient. I use this account for family email and share family photos via OneDrive links. So, I got support from a Microsoft agent. He said the recovery process is the proper channel. I complained - This is a PAID account. Awaiting to hear from the account recovery team. I think there's an issue happening on their end. He said they were having discussions with their engineering team.
Has anyone had problems like this today?
