wd40
Hey all, I ran across this the other day by mistake and found it quiet interesting. You can get to it also with the IP address. http://64.46.100.72/ or http://wwww.neowin.net/
aco Veteran Posted February 14, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 14, 2002 Yep, it can also be reached at: http://aco0wnsj00.neowin.net/ :p
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted February 14, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 14, 2002 Are you serious? neowin only uses 125GB of traffic a month?? I use more than that! HAHAHAHHAHHAA *goes back to FTP admining...*
CustardFD
37 Gb HDD. Hmm. At that size, and no mention on the stats page to indicate otherwise, I would have thought you were using an IDE HDD. I thought this new server was meant to speed the site up? Wouldn't it have been faster to get a smaller SCSI drive? Then again, I could be showing my ignorance about how much HostTyme spend on your hardware, let alone bandwidth... At least I now have a way to tell whether the servers are up or not. :D

Tim Dorr Veteran Posted February 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 21, 2002 Made that last night. :D Now I just gotta start downloading more pr0n! (oh, BTW, those are dynamicly updating, but only nightly. I'm working on something for the last hour or so, like the neowin graphs)
CustardFD
If your thropughput is only 5 kbps when I went to your stats page, unless I've done my maths wrong how are you achiving 6GB sent in a day?
Marshalus Veteran Posted February 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 21, 2002 If you're looking for a server stats program similar to this, there is one at http://phpsysinfo.sourceforge.net/ that is pretty good, it's not exactly like the one for Neowin, but it has all the same features. A working demo can be found on my server at http://www.federation1.com
xEonBuRn
or u can just go to http://ww.neowin.net
CustardFD
Whatever happened to using a logical address likehttp://stats.neowin.net? :ponder:
PM5K
Apparently it's set to show the server stats no matter what you put as a sub-domain, and I am not even sure they intended us to be viewing the server stats anyhow. Can anyone tell me what the three load numbers mean ?? Im thinking high, low and average ?
CustardFD
I noticed they were way down again just now. Has there been some smooth bug fix that worked without causing problems or something. As far as I know they go between 0 and 10 and are high, avg., low. I don't know over what time period though.
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted February 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 21, 2002 No, it's the avg for the last 1, 5, and 15 minutes. If the number is at 1, your system is being fully utilized. So, anything under means you aren't pushing it too far, and anything over means things are starting to go a bit crazy. Hope this helps to understand... PM5K
Is it always one, I thought it would vary from server to server. I recall my host saying something like two was a good number, and that it could go higher but not for long periods of time ?
CustardFD
hmm. what sort of scale is that? Linear? I'm thinking of some systems I've seen some systems at 9.8ish. Thats why I thought it was 10 :knocked:
