Favicons always save in bookmakr toolbar which Firefox doesnt.
Last time I checked, FFox asks you where you want to save the Bookmark... and it works just fine.
Chat which is just what I need and like and I like having it in the browser and it doesnt bloat the feel of the browser

You may like it in the browser, but figures probably 3/4 of the people would prefer a real IRC client like mIRC for exemple. It just isn't the place for a chat client.

RSS works for me unlike Firefox Extension
I don't use RSS so I wouldn't know.
Tabbed browsing is always in single window mode unlike firefox

uhhhh last time I checked the tabbed browsing was taking place in one single window... CTRL-T

and your car comparison is completly off. IRC is something useful that i always do at the same time as i am browsing.

First, my comparison is not off at all. We're talking about things that can be done but not nessecary welcomed and used by all (read most people). Second, IRC has its own place and its not integrated into a browser. You might like it like that and thats fine by me but thats NOT THE WAY A BROWSER SHOULD BE. With all that crap (imo) you can't even call it a browser anymore... cuz it isn't. The name is "Bloatware", an app thats trying to do things it shouldn't.

First its a browser and then it degenerates into something else. If Opera wants to sell a browser, then keep it as such.

Finally, like the other dude said : Isn't 40$ a major setback ? I'm sure you either bought it or endured the ads, RIGHT ?

Do you see mIRC having a built-in browser ? Or do you see someone using Winamp's mini-browser ? Of course not.

OPERA SHOULD STICK TO WHAT THEY DO BEST AND THATS A BROWSER

maybe for you, but i never use IRC, and when i do ijust use trillian cause i have AIM and MSN on that too. also opera sets you back 40 bucks.

a) free version with small gogle ad

b) I get student discount so its only $20. :happy:

Read again i said favicons not the bookmakrs themselvs. Firefox doesnt save the favicons between sessions like opera does.

Yes i know that but thats true single window mode. You need an extension to get everything to open in same window by deafult which opera does and firefox dont.

Yes i'm about to buy it soon. Its $20 since i get student discount and i remember mozilla having irc in it and mail and rss and a calender. Forgive me if i'm wrong tho. :whistle: No firefox dont but Mozilla did. It can be more convienent that way if done right and opera just uses 8 megs space and firefox 16+ and tb is nearly 30 here so thats almost 50 vs 10 wiht same things and more :yes:

first off, mozilla.org is pushing (or is going to anyway) firefox as its main browser. and just because opera has a small download does not mean its not bloated. i oculdnt care less how big a browser i dl once a month is. what i do care about is that the browser that i use every day does not get in my way.

This is a hard one . On WinXP I use Firefox and its the best I have found. However in Fedora I have found Firefox to be a bit flakey and renders fonts rather badly.

In Fedora I prefer Opera 7.23.

I tried Firefox but use web based email (three accounts) and love Avant and Roboform to quickly look at my mail. Firefox doesn't have a built-in email client. You have to use Thunderbird. One program too many for me. I don't use POP3 mail at all. Combined with Pop Peeper to alert me of new mail, life is a breeze with this combo.

most of u guys onyl use firefox cos u think it makes u 1337 and cos u liek the pretty lil fox icon, and hte new name soudns sexy .

actually we use firefox, because its fast rendering, makes you able to use themes - extensions etc, gets upgraded more often than IE, is available for multible platforms - i use it on my linux box too, it has tabs and so on.

So STFU with your "your just using it because bla bla".

No, it's because those who use it find it better than others. I prefer IE - and that's not beacuse I'm stupid :rolleyes:

yes but to me the less hards drive space a program uses the better. I just hate things taking up lots of space on my 80 gig hard drive. only using 5 gigs and plan to stay that way. :yes:
