On Chome, without any extension installed it loads stuff like this.

I understand vignette ads bring more clicks, but having these thrown in my face is ridiculous...

I'm afraid it's not a malware related issue. It's an issue with the way Neowin's ads are configured.

i've not experienced these ads on any of my machines / browsers without any adblocking... just the normal ads.

Sorry for the late response to this, but you will only see those when you are logged out. And according to my advertiser you should only see 1x per session (not with every click to a different article).

I can see the green "Sign up" button in your screenshot even though it is blurred through the ad, which means you weren't logged in when you got that ad.

I do appreciate the support when not blocking ads, it is very hard in the current climate to pay for everything, and we rely on ads and commission from affiliate links from our deal posts.
