I’ve been revisiting Usenet lately, purely from a tech perspective. Was looking at speed, retention, privacy, and overall reliability. It surprised me that in 2025, some providers still offer thousands of days of retention and full SSL access. Also, I noticed that several services quietly run discount periods around this time of year, likely because of Black Friday.

Does anyone here actively use it in 2025, and if so, what for? Any favorite providers?

Absolutely. I have a NZBGeek and NZBFinder subscription in combination with Eweka. Started this back in August 2024 and it has been problem-free so I'll be renewing when the 15 months at Eweka are up. I already resubbed NZBGeek and NZBFinder.

I only ever used usernet for downloading TV and movies and the odd computer software. I don't really use the computer anymore and I now stream everything, I've just got into IPTV that gives me 57000 TV channels and every movie or TV show I want and because I don't want to keep anything this is all I now need so usernet is redundant to me.

NZBGeek is great! I have a lifetime subscription.

You can stack the deal before the renewal while their black friday deal lasts, have you seen it?

100% true but if you care about quality, IPTV and streaming doesn't beat 4k remux releases.
