FlishFun, I just noticed that the information posted on autopatcher.com under FTPs is wrong.

I remember you changed it to this

IP: neowin.serveftp.com

username: apxp

password: neowin

port: 2680

but is showing the old server info again, could you please update it?

Thanks Flish

How odd! :s Yeah, I'll change it now. (Y)

I also noticed Flish that you put my link on your site - It now works :)

It's an anti-leech script, and I added "www.autopatcher.com" but didn't think about "autopatcher.com".

I am only aloud 5 domains, and I got mine, neowin.net, and both of autopatcher domains ;)

So there's no posting the link else where ;)

Thanks,

Ferret !

What version of AutoPatcher are you attempting to run? You appear to have the symptoms of those who tried to run the old Jan Update file, instead of the full. Of course, the current newest file is Feb Full...

the latest.....the thing is i download it last week, at my pc and run it and works like a charm.....today i reformat cause i buy new videocard, soundcard etc and and want it a clean instalation, so i did it and run AP from my external HD and happen what i already told......i almost finishing installin xp again, lets what happen, anyway this time i'm gonna extraxt autopatcher i aint gonna run the extraxt copy that i already had in my external drive and see if it runs ok, hopefully it will do dont wanna format again :D

I get a different md5 checksum than the on posted for the February Full download. I get "29807aca408f4a7092cc70d9e8161f6b"

I got it from the http://autopatcher.wvutech.edu/ mirror on your site. Should I install it anyways?

You can try, but it sounds like it may be a corrupt download. Does it even extract?

Yes. It worked perfectly. Excellent app. Thanks.

I did download a file with a corrupted database a couple of days back (dont remember the mirror). luckily I have Dsl to get it again ..

Compared to AP, is this any good?

Funny story. After the first version of the AP came out, he wrote me and asked if he could be part of the team. I asked what he could offer, and it turns out he couldn't offer anything. So, I told him no, sorry. Since then, he's been on a mission to put down the AP. If you don't believe me, ask Raptor, we've found him in at least one forum puttin' us down and promotin' his patcher.

Pretty much, his is the same as our UltraLite version, though I haven't gone through his patches to see what he has. I probably should. lol

EDIT - His one mirror is down, so so much for checking it out. I did search filemirrors.com and Google and still nothing shows up. Oh well. *shrugs*

Thanks man. And it should be a day or two. I'm quite sick and had found a bug yesterday in the AP, so we'll see what happens. Don't worry, won't be too long, I promise. (Y)

    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.

    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
    • Nothing is stopping you from continuing with your testing cadence. If updates are released every 2 weeks instead of 4, and you test once every 4 weeks, the exact same amount of patches will still be available for you in those 4 weeks. For example: Before 4th week - patch 1, 2, 3, 4 After 2nd week - patch 1 and 2 4th week - patch 3 and 4 Still the same amount after 4.
    • Everyone else has said it. I'm gonna say it - you don't know what you're talking about. I do. I have two laptops. One work, one personal. I have access to two more laptops - both personal. At home I manually update my personal laptop when I see on Neowin that there is an update - I carry on and only apply the updates when I am ready. My work one only updates when my workplace decides to send it - I carry on and only apply the updates (when they actually arrive, which is usually days after the release) when I switch off the laptop at the end of the day as usual. The two other personal laptops only get updated when I get to it which is rarely - the people who own them carry on using them until I get to it and update them. All of the browsers on all laptops are configured to restore the tabs when launched. Google and Microsoft have changed from 6 weeks to 4, and it looks like it's going to move to 2. None of these changes affect how any of these browsers on the laptops are used. Not one jot. My advice to you is stop panicking whenever you see an update. Just carry on with what you're doing. This even benefits you in a way - from your comment you sound like you don't like the changes or the frivolous new features - great - then carry on as before!
