Hi,

1) Why the next hotfix disappear from the Autopatcher FEB version and specially WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe (Worms Blaster).

Q329256_WXP_SP2_x86_ENU.exe Inconsistent Gap Count Can Cause 1394 Devices to Not Enumerate

Q329623_WXP_SP2_x86_ENU.exe Problems with InterVideo DVD Software After Upgrading to Windows XP Service Pack 1

Q810400_WXP_SP2_x86_ENU.exe Windows XP Patch: USB Devices May Not Work After You Unplug a Downstream USB Hub from the Host Controller

Q816868_WXP_SP2_x86_ENU.exe Error Message: "Internet Explorer Cannot Download a File"

WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe Security Update for Windows XP (KB823980): Worms Blaster

2)Sorry, to bore you with modifying AutoPatcher Core.db for customizing AutoPatcher language to French WinXP .

Since I modify an existing batch (ie Q322011_WXP_SP2_x86_ENU.exe to Q322011_WXP_SP2_x86_FRA.exe), I have an error messgae "Ap_dbValidation" (see attached), but I can continue installing.

On the other hand, when I add a hotfix (see above) in addition of "Ap_dbValidation" error message I get "AP_XML_dbServices" message (see attached), and the intall fail.

Tnx for yr help

coucou,

(1,3) are those the only errors you get with that description? (unable to save temp file)

that error means that autopatcher was unable to create a file in the Temporary folder.

the odd thing is, nothing expains the fact that only 2 items give the error

(2) it looks like a file got corrupt somehow (not valid win32 files on .exe files usually indicates a bad file)

Hi nw_raptor,

Tnx for yr reply/advise.

2) it looks like a file got corrupt somehow (not valid win32 files on .exe files usually indicates a bad file)

Right.

I tried launching it manually "AutoPatcher XP\ProgFiles\Q831167.exe" (784k), I got "not valid win32 files" message.

I downloaded it again (381k) and launched it manually = Wooow It's installed.

(1,3) are those the only errors you get with that description?

YES

I tried Launching "AutoPatcher XP\ProgFiles\Q829637 .exe" (420k) , I got "Setup cannot update your Windows XP files because the language installed on your system is different from the update language" message.

Unfortunately I can not find this Q829637 hotfix download in french, in english neither. Tnx for an english/french link.

Regarding error 3 (2 Unable to save temporary file) occured while installing the update Microsoft DirectX 9.0b - Control Panel Shortcut... What hotfix sould be??? Tnx for an english/french link.

Suggestion (appologies upfront if this has already been mentioned): Skip the March update, since the end of March is near, and go directly to an April update. In other words, first of April rather than end of March. When I think "March update", I think first of March. Or whatever the month at hand is. Going to April would let you guys sort of reset your labeling:-)

Autopatcher rocks! I love the program. Thanks for all the great work.

The reason we release towards the end of the month, is so that it contains everything that had been released that month. Sorta like how the Culmulative Updates for Internet Explorer may say "January" when released the beginning of February. (Y)

FlishFun, I just noticed that the information posted on autopatcher.com under FTPs is wrong.

I remember you changed it to this

IP: neowin.serveftp.com

username: apxp

password: neowin

port: 2680

but is showing the old server info again, could you please update it?

Thanks Flish

    • Salesforce to acquire Fin, formerly Intercom, for over $3 billion by David Uzondu Image via DepositPhotos.com Salesforce today announced that it has reached an agreement with customer support software company Fin to buy the company for around $3.6 billion. Salesforce expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027, and the acquisition will not change its financial guidance previously announced on May 27. Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, in its press release, claimed that acquiring the startup gives Salesforce an immediate AI agent that resolves support tickets across email, WhatsApp, SMS, and Slack: You might know Fin by its former name, Intercom. If you have ever been on a website or inside a mobile app and noticed a little chat bubble widget floating in the bottom right corner of your screen, often featuring a friendly face and a message like, "Hi! How can we help you today?" you were almost certainly looking at Intercom. Intercom became Fin just last month, transforming itself into an "AI-first" platform that handles customer issues with little need for humans to intervene. The new name originates from the company's highly successful AI customer service agent, which it launched way back in 2023. This digital assistant supposedly resolves about 76% of customer service volume end-to-end on its own, so the business rebranded to match its primary software tool. Fin's new owners, Salesforce, went on an acquisition spree over the last few years, and some of them you might recognize, like its 2020 $27.7 Billion acquisition of Slack. The last few months saw the enterprise giant buy several startups, including m3ter, Momentum, Cimulate, and Contentful. Salesforce said that when the Fin deal pulls through, customers will "deploy AI agents across" various service operations, which will complement Agentforce, the platform that enables businesses to deploy customizable autonomous digital workers.
