The latest subscription receiving a price adjustment has been revealed to be the PlayStation Plus program. Sony announced today via social media that new or returning customers will be hit with the price hike in multiple regions. However, two countries will see the pricing change being applied to every Plus subscriber.
The hike is seeing the PlayStation Plus monthly subscription's price go up by $1. The price of the three-month subscription is going up by $3.
"Prices will start at $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP for 1-month subscriptions and $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP for 3-month subscriptions," confirmed Sony today. "This price change does not apply to current subscribers."
However, the company noted that all current PlayStation Plus subscribers in Turkey and India will be experiencing the price hike.
Sony said that the reason for this hike is "ongoing market conditions," without elaborating. The primary benefit of PlayStation Plus is gaining online multiplayer access on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, alongside other bonuses such as monthly games and PlayStation Store discounts.
Starting May 20, PlayStation Plus prices for new customers will increase in select regions. Due to ongoing market conditions, prices will start at $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP for 1-month subscriptions and $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP for 3-month subscriptions.…

The PlayStation subscription price hikes come just a couple of months after Sony hit the PlayStation 5 with major price increases that raised it by up to $150. This affected both base and Pro variants, with Sony calling it a "necessary step" due to "continued pressures in the global economic landscape." The company has also shut the doors on two studios so far in 2025. This included the Demon's Souls and the Shadow of the Colossus remake developer Bluepoint as well as live-service game studio Dark Outlaw Games.
