Microsoft recently released big updates in the Insider program, finally giving Windows 11 users some long-anticipated features and upgrades. If you want to try them out on a virtual machine, a spare device, or perform an in-place upgrade, you can download the latest Windows 11 images from the official website. Microsoft has published new ISO files, allowing users to get the latest builds without using Windows Update.

If you head to the official Windows Insider website, you can download the latest builds from three channels:

  • Experimental Future Platforms (former Canary): 29591.1000 (released on May 15)
  • Experimental (former Dev): 26300.8493 (also released on May 15)
  • Beta (still Beta): 26220.8474 (released on May 15, alongside the Experimental build)

To download these ISO files, you must sign in with your Microsoft Account that is registered in the Windows Insider Program. After that, you can "burn" the downloaded image to a USB device or install it as a virtual machine using apps like the recently updated VMware Workstation Pro 26H1. These images also support in-place upgrades for those who want to update their existing Windows 11 installations.

As for the Release Preview channel, Microsoft currently offers three builds for Windows 11 version 24H2, 25H2, and 26H1. These builds preview changes and features that Microsoft plans to release as a non-security update later this month. Today, Microsoft pushed new builds with fixes for audio issues and notification bugs. You can find more details about the update here.
