Creative launches flagship Sound Blaster AE-X internal sound card for audiophiles

The ~$211 Sound Blaster AE-X card features 32-bit audio, an ESS SABRE DAC, and dedicated headphone amplification to eliminate desktop clutter.
Sound Blaster AE-X

Creative Technology has just announced the Sound Blaster AE-X sound card, which it described as “flagship.” This bit of kit is aimed at consumers who “demand more” from their hardware but have already optimized everything else. With the Sound Blaster AE-X internal sound card, Creative is also giving users dedicated headphone amplification and lots of personalization options via the Creative NEXUS app.

Regarding the headphone amplification, the Sound Blaster AE-X should work better with high-end headphones. Compared to typical motherboard audio, this sound card delivers greater dynamic range, improved control and detail, and a cleaner, tighter low-end response.

Creative has built this sound card with the aim of eliminating unnecessary complexity. With this card, users don’t need to worry about desk clutter, additional cables, or separate power bricks. It has lower latency with native PC integration and unified control via Creative’s software ecosystem. It supports 32-bit / 384 kHz playback and up to a 130 dB signal-to-noise ratio, and supports studio-grade audio fidelity.

Finally, it is worth mentioning the Creative NEXUS Software and what it gives you. It is a one-stop shop for all of the settings, where you can configure the 10-band parametric EQ for fine-tuning audio shaping, there is auto EQ with support for community-curated headphone profiles, and it gives you PC-native control across applications.
