NHL posts record opening-round attendance, television viewership continues to build

good deal.. but theyve got to realize.. all this progress will be killed if a lockout takes place

Maple Leafs vs Flyers

Lightning vs Canadiens

Red Wings vs Flames

Avalanche vs Sharks

i was 7/8 in the first round... well more like 6.5/8 because i called Avs/Dallas a draw cause the Avs played like sh!t the last few games of the regular season. but i was 4/4 in the eastern conf

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Toronto's Tie Domi hadn't had a fight in the penalty box since he was a teen-ager. Back then he took on a mascot, this time it was a fan.

Domi wrestled with a spectator who jumped from the second row and landed on the glass separating the box from the crowd during the Maple Leafs' 2-1 victory Thursday night over the Philadelphia Flyers.

"Hey that's old-time hockey, it was perfect," Domi said, laughing. "Hey, he comes into my territory, that's what happens."

Domi, who had just been penalized early in the third period, twice poured water over taunting fans in the front row before the attacking fan, Chris Falcone, jumped from the second row and landed on the glass.

Falcone leaned into it while throwing a punch at Domi that didn't connect. He then fell into the box as Domi grabbed him.

"They threw stuff at me. Once was enough. After the second one, I told the guy in the penalty box that after one more I was going to squirt water. So I squirted water," Domi said. "I mean, I didn't plan on fighting anybody."

Ahh Domi! It is going to be a great series, hopefully just as hard hitting. I can't wait till tomorrow.

This is F*cking stupid. i hate ppl that find it funny to beat up fans of other teams. all you that laughed at this are the problem with hockey now days.

I agree with you. its f*ck up when fans gang up on a fan from the other team. I hope the Devils fan pressed charges aginst the ppl that were fighting him. I really hope the stands at hockey games don't turn into soccer stands in other countries.

    • I think the car analogy is more this: Left hand drive, basic commands on the left side of the infotainment screen. Right hand drive, basic commands on the right side of the infotainment screen. Granted, you're not swapping between the two often so it's doesn't really work. But it's to do with the proximity of you (your mouse, or the driver) to the controls.
    • I mean, the old one was broken and so stupidly complex for many users, so I don't see that as a feasible option. A context menu needs to be simple to use, and for me the Windows 11 style actually worked really well for me, and many others. I used to have to scroll the damn context menu just to get to "file properties" in Windows 10. That was not a good experience, and I'm sure you'd agree. What they're trying to do is make it the best of both worlds, as clearly you'd prefer the Win10 style. I'm curious how they're going to do this.
    • The "Show more options" has its place, as does the simpler context menu, but it should perhaps be a separate fly-out rather than relaunching the entire, old context menu. The old context menu was getting absurd in Windows 10. Often I'd have to make the context menu scroll just to get to "File properties" on my old laptop. Even without much installed, the amount of items was just too much. It's a context menu, not a "do all" menu. Making it configurable is fraught with challenges too, so I'm interested to see how Microsoft tackles this one.
    • I don't hate the new menus, I am not a fan of the lack of features and how they went live when they clearly are not complete. The menu itself presents much better than the previous - but what's lacking (IMO) is: 1) Any kind of automated manipulation such as: "this goes on the new menu because you use this feature more often on this filetype" "this is rarely used and will fall back to the old menu" 2) Any kind of user manipulation such as: "a UI to add/remove/order items to the new menu"
