FBI wants backdoor in MSN Messenger

Recommended Posts

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the article mention that communications would be "tap" just at the ISP level?

The FBI has made a proposal to the FCC that would require all Internet Providers ...

Yeah configure, only the ISP that means that all of us that are not on USA will be safe?

Ha - it'd be funny to see what happens...

While playing MechAssault on XBOX Live...

a - HA! Blew you up bigtime!

b - ******

a - Yeah - just like I'm gonna blow up that US embassy at 3:00 pm on the 18th of next month.

roflololol they want to put backdoors in an MS product lol they're probably already there cuz M$ sux lolol

...sorry couldn't resist

Anyway... this seems kinda dumb... if the FBI wiretaps the big names they'll just resort to running private Jabber servers for illegal activities

Better to stop talking to people in America over MSN then as they will monitor your side of the conversation comming into the country. I presume that this has something to do with preventing terrorism.

Ads running for Bush accuse John Kerry of wanting to weaken the Patriot Act as if that's a bad idea. This is the kind of **** your Patriot Act gets you. Yeah... land of the free (except for when we need to trample your freedoms).

Man, this is hilarious. I love however is soooo quick to turn on the government and bitch at them for extending something they already do to another medium. If the US government sucks so much, why don't you do something about it? It's a democracy for a reason: so your voice can be heard. Instead, all it seems like is everyone here yells at the government than turns around and does nothing. If you don't like this, DO SOMETHING. Don't sit on your fat ass listening to pop music getting fat off McDonald's in your sweatpants from Walmart. America: Land of the free (if we care enough to keep it free, that is).

And I have no problem with this. They can already order wiretaps on my phone. NSA is reading my emails, and has super computers powerful enough to break encryption (thought that encyrption wasn't NP-solvable? Think again!). I don't care if they're reading my emails. I don't have anything to hide. And it's not like someone is *actually* reading them. It's a computer looking for keywords, nothing more. Same in this case, as there is too much informatino to sift through by hand.

I don't think the government is the problem, it's the mentality of the people in the country...

nope, they can do it anywhere, because microsoft servers are based in US and any traffic they get can be intercepted and have these laws applied to it

its gay, very gay, might catch a few pedos tho, good for somethings, bad for most

Didn't you read my previous post? they are going to backdoor the US ISP servers :D :D

/me Is a proud user of Tricom, that's why i cant be backdoor'd :ninja:

some odd words there

badger, aol, 15kg... :s

yeah why the hell is bob in there. So everyone called bob is going to have there communications constantly monitored. I cant see it happening :

Alright Bob, Hows it going mate ?

    • Payday TWO!! Is 13 years old man I feel old - I remember trying it out and if I did not know I would say 5-6 years ago or something
    • Payday 2 engine upgrade adds 64-bit and DX11 support, drastically shrinks install size by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Payday 2, the most popular entry in the heisting game franchise, is getting a surprising update after all these years. This is slated to be a complete engine upgrade that will enhance almost every aspect of the 13-year-old title, targeting performance, loading times, file size, rendering backend, and more. Developer Sidetrack Games is planning a beta to test out the new version ahead of the full public launch. The development team today revealed that the long-awaited upgrade to the 64-bit architecture is happening with this Diesel 3.0 engine update. By letting the game use more ram than 4GB, it is said to improve stability and compatibility on most hardware. It should also help modders in the long term with implementing larger changes too. "While many of the changes are made on the backend and not everything will be visible to you guys because it is a massive rewrite of the entire codebase, there will be a lot of things that you can look forward to," Sidetrack explained. Payday 2 will also hop over from DirectX 9 to 11. Instead of visual improvements, this is slated to reduce the amount of VRAM used by the title, letting more lower-end hardware access the title and run it better. Since these changes would require a complete redownload of the game anyway, Sidetrack says it has revamped "the game's packaging and bundling system." This should reduce the installation size from 86GB to 32GB. "So, now it's time to finally move the game to your SSDs," added the studio. The Payday 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update is entering open beta on June 30 for Steam users. No console release plans were announced today. Sidetrack Games says it has been working on this complete rewrite of the codebase for the last nine months. While these changes should break most mods, the studio encouraged modders to use the beta period to repair their creations with support from the development team.
