This project WILL DIE

Bye bye, PearPC.

Mike

incorrect again, just because you can install mac os x on this system does not mean it has anything to do with mac osx or apple. this is an emulated PPC chip that IBM developed completely unrelated to apple. so apple will have no say in what happens to this. also, the IBM chip's insutrction set is open to anyone that wants it, so this allows for reverse engineering of it's insruction set.

I am using my brain. If this software allows users to violate Apple's license agreement, they have every right to shut it down.

Why is everyone so f*cking obnoxious?

Mike

But the user who decides to use this forOSX instead of a PPC Linux is the one violating the agreement. The situation only comes up when a user decides to use it illegaly.

People could ask the same thing to you with your pretentious--Mac love--attitude in a Windows section of the forum.

Oh, you mean my responses to the ignorant statements like "there's no software for the Mac" or "hard drives don't work on the Mac" or "RAM doesn't work on the Mac" or...

i cant get my panther disk boot..

it is just saying:

HFS+ has no backup volume header. skipping...

HFS+ has no backup volume header. skipping...

[iO/PROM] <Error> can?t open boot file

This happens to me on the images I created on a Mac using a third party utility (Sorry, I ain't infront of my mac, so I can't remember the software). The ISOs aren't compatible with PearPC. I had good luck with the shareware version of Alcohol120 using the ISO wizard part.

HTH,

Well you are supposed to ignore that, the same way when someone goes into the Mac section and sees people saying inaccurate statements regarding Windows. Honestly, it?s not even worth the effort to educate these kinds of people.

Also let?s not forget how you were basically ****ting on Windows because of it?s lack of iApps (or comparable software)?which isn?t true.

It's NOT?

So you're saying that Microsoft packages up a DVD builder? A Movie Editor (Movie Maker isn't even close to the same league)? A Photo Manager? Gee....I don't have them.

Hi I have tryed this but I can not get pased this screen.

picture

Try going into the Apple Menu->Disk Utility. See if the hard drive is seen there. If it is, partition and format it.

If not, check your config file. I had that problem when using an absolute path for the img file of the virtual hard drive.

I also tried removing the comment about the device being "hd".

i dont believe it is mike.. as soon as apple flexes their muscles pearpc can then just not promote pictures of mac os x on their site etc. they just concentrate on linux ppc etc. the fact is its not made to run os x is run to emulate ppc. i could go on about microsoft and their PC not mac license of one per PC then how can make users emulate the x86 PC and run windows.. that would surely be against the license. o well.. not worth any more time discussing i dont think

anyway who knows what apple will do.. lets not argue over software issues and other things. (not aiming this at you mike.. just any1) lets just discuss this great app and report success people have been having :)

it does look pretty cool having a max inside a window on windows tho..

So basically your saying they Microsoft should shut down VMware? Just because you can run Windows on it does mean it was intended to. Apple may be able to go after the people that use OSX on PearPC but not the deveolpers.

Did I mention bundling? No. MS would be in court if they did that, though Apple seems to get away with it on a number of levels (QT being a big one with its integration).

Third party software would suffice for iApps.

This is off topic though so feel free to make another thread in respect to this and I'll be happy to discuss it there.

Uh, no, because there's nothing in the Windows license agreement that says that you have to use MS-branded hardware. DID I SAY THAT? NO.

Since I'm trying to compare apples to apples (no pun intended), I was DIRECTLY comparing what you get for FREE from OS X vs. what you get for FREE from Windows. How can you compare what you get for free on one platform vs. what you have to pay for on another? By that I might was well say "Final Cut Pro" and end the conversation right then and there.

Your not using your brain, its not for emulating apple hardware, its for emulating PPC hardware, whats so hard to understand.

What gives, Microsoft bundles a load of software with windows, Microsoft gets sued, Microsoft has to remove said software, Apple bundles a load of software with Mac OSX, Everyone thinks the sun shines out of Apples ass, the end.

Apple doesn't integrate their apps with the OS. Is that too hard to comprehend?

Have you tried uninstalling IE lately?

    • Most boring game ever. Repetitive, empty, predictable, and full of cliches. Total waste of time and money, IMO.
    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
