Ok, how about some timings?

These are from my system last night:

Pentium 4 2.53 GHz

ATI Radeon 9700

1 GB RAM

Windows XP JIT version

'Boot' time: 12:03

First GUI: 12:06

Select disk to install on: 12:09

I couldn't get past this point. I'll try again when I get home.

I finally got it to install on the 6gib img file and I let it run overnight. It finished the install this morning and then said it needed to restart. The screen said restarting and then the program quit. So I am assuming that the OS got installed, but how do I get it to boot from the .img file? I have tried all of the different boot methods in the config file but it keeps on telling me that the apple partition is not bootable. Anyone know what is going on?

What format is the partition you are extracting it to? If it is FAT32 then thats your problem.... FAT32 only supports files up to 4GB in size. Try extracting it to a NTFS partition.

I used winrar to extract the file. I think everyone is right with the NTFS. Thats what I am using.

This project WILL DIE

Bye bye, PearPC.

Mike

They arent providing the Panther images, it doesnt even emulate Apple hardware, it emulates PPC, which just so happens is the same architecture that Apple runs on, you can install PPC Linux,

Apple cant do anything to shut PearPC down,

Use your brain before engaging your fingers.

I am using my brain. If this software allows users to violate Apple's license agreement, they have every right to shut it down.

Why is everyone so f*cking obnoxious?

After you install panther, can you boot it again? How u boot it?

Still waiting for my panther CD.

# Boot method

# this can be

# 1. "auto", prom will boot the first bootable partition found (default)

# 2. "select", prom will show you a list of bootable partitions

# 3. "force", prom will load and boot the local file prom_loadfile

#

prom_bootmethod = "select"
