Running Mac OS X on x86 PC!

Well so far i've had very little trouble. No crashes yet at all today. Installed on two systems to see what difference would be like.

Both are 3ghz with xp profesional. One however has 1 gb with 512 dedicated to os install, while the other has 2gb with 1gb dedicated to os install. The increase in memory increased productivity around 20-30 % from what i can tell. Set redraw rate at 120 and so far so good. Doesn't take nearly as long to install stuff on the unit with 1 gig ram. *tried a copy of MS OFFICE students and teachers edition*.

It feels like a P200-300 running XP with all it's effects on, so it's sluggish, but not unbearable. And no it doesn't take 3 seconds for the cursor to move, it's instant for me, I've allocated 512mb for PearPC as well. I've installed a few themes, installed Windowshade X and just installed iTunes 4.5:

how would i allocate that much ram, just by changing the config file?

i changed the memory config to memory_size=0x20000000, but it shows 128 at boot still anyone know why?  will the boot say that but when its installed and done will it be fine?

make sure you don't have # next to that line since that comments it out

also I'm trying out the Trunk (0.2pre) build, seems ok can't really see a big speed difference

    • The consumer ESU is ending in 4 months. LTSC isn't now, never has been, and never will be for consumer use, it is for OT usage - plant machinery, medical devices, manufacturing equipment etc. LTSC requires a Microsoft EA. You can't legally obtain LTSC to run on your PC at home.
    • Hmm actually looks decently interesting!
    • Being on GitHub doesn't make something safe. Like any unofficial scripts to do x or y this caters to people with just enough knowledge to be dangerous. If you want to do what this does, and you actually know what you're doing then write your own script (or maybe just add the reg keys yourself) if you don't have the ability to read and understand what a script is doing, and especially don't run it with elevated privileges. Or in this case just use an MSA, sign up the normal route, and stop trying to push water up hill
