0 Dogan
I changed so that the config pointed to disk 2, restarted ppc, and I still get the same message:I click on "installer" and then "quit installer" but nothing happens.. it just waits for cd2  (translated from swedish: "Put in the CD Mac OS X Install disc 2 and continue installation. You have chosen to install applications that require this disc") :( come ooon! anyone? I been trying to fix this the WHOLE day now.. still doesn't work :( According to the guide, I should be able to quit the installer now when it's asking for CD2. Why doesn't it just quit the installer when I choose to do so? It just keeps asking for CD2. I'm going crazy.. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/165720-running-mac-os-x-on-x86-pc/page/55/#findComment-2159043 Share on other sites
0 Menge
hmmm if i'm not mistaken the dialog asking for cd2 has a "Cancel Installation" button... click it. it'll tell you that you can install those features later on Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/165720-running-mac-os-x-on-x86-pc/page/55/#findComment-2159078 Share on other sites

0 Fozzieb
Dont cancel or abort, use the menu at the top of the screen to quit, then change to config to boot from hard drive rather than iso image. if that does not boot , go to page 1 and read all the posts again, like we all did. 0 Dogan
The wierd thing is that I followed the guide, and it should quit when I choose to do so.. I have CD2 as an .iso, but it's the EXACT same size as CD1. And it brings me to the same dialouge.. :/ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/165720-running-mac-os-x-on-x86-pc/page/55/#findComment-2159190 Share on other sites
0 Colin Holywell
Change pci_ide0_slave_installed = 0 to pci_ide0_slave_installed = 1 Thats why the button is greyed out I think. And to boot from the hard drive image change the prom_bootmethod to prom_bootmethod = "select" That will give you a nice little boot menu which will ask you. 0 ATLien_0
i would use the 20gb but my extra hd which is 30 gb is real slow i think 512kb cache. My primary hd is 80gb but if i add anymore to it i would go over the half way point thus slowing windows down. So im just gonna use the 6gb. Now I can change CDs :) I changed cd to disc 2, and now it's continuing the setup.. installing internet explorer and stuffit. I've tried to quit the installer now, but the installer said that I was unable to do so, because the programs that are going to be installed now are important.
