Did anyone else catch Newell mention that all previous HL mods...including Half-Life 1 itself are going to be ported to the Source engine??

Did I hear right? Are we gonna get to play the original half life w/ all the goodies that the Source engine is bringing to HL2??

Thats correct. All mods and the original HL will be ported to the new engine. (:woot: I know.. its gonna be sweet)

The 664mb video is insane Ive been hearing. Well worth the wait supposedly.

Im d/ling now.. maybe Ill post pics when Im done. :) If you still want them that is.

Apparantly, it's true. I would love to be able to play Half Life 1 again before the sequel. Even if it meant I would have to pay full price for it.

The only thing Im afraid (not really afraid, more like insanely excited about) is that the multiplayer will be so awesome again, people will be playing the mods and multiplayer for years to come. Esepcially counter-strike. After seeing that, I wanted to install HL again just to practice. Aye, this is gonna be awesome.

Yes! HL1, CS, Op4 and BS will all be released at budget prices, and perhap even made free for owners of the HL1 versions and HL2 over Steam.

watching the video now. It is superb, completely different to the 30MB version I watched earlier today. That part with the Irish priest and running through the cemetery is very nice :) New vehicle shown, the hoverbike. Water effects as before are great. This is no higher res version of the shaky cam ;)

Edit: The first 10 mins or so is all fresh footage. The reminder is exactly as released in the low res video. No extra CS:Source footage... Looks like they used a tripod filming this one :)

All "offical" mods on HL1 are being ported, CS, TFC, OpFor, DoD etc etc. NS, TS, none of the unoffical mods are included in that. But who knows, maybe Valve will work with the mod teams and help them port right over. Could you imagine TS or NS under Source. Mmmm.

FFS.. on the bittorrent link, there are 599 seeders and over 7000 leachers. It sucks.. how many of these losers just set their upload speed to 0 and download at full whack, thus totally defeating the point of bittorrent.

*sigh*

Getting a whopping 2k/sec :|

Sad thing is, they think that will give them faster downloads.

The makers of the unofficial mods will probably just do it themselves.
