The feature you are probably talking about is Concurrent Sessions that was in earlier (Pre-Beta) versions of it. Though I believe they took out/disabled that feature in the current versions.

Good questions. I too, am eagerly awaiting SP2's release. I have the beta version, but I don't dare install it! LOL... For someone who isn't great (not bad, but not great) with computers, it would be suicide for me to install a beta service pack on to my machine. Then I would come on to this board, whining and complaining that it hosed my system! No thanks! I'll wait for the RTM.

MCE 2005 is shaping out to be rather promising, it's going to include WMP10 and a few other things that might suprise ya ;)

I have a problem with my powerkyro and sp2, i beleive this is something to do with sp2 checking the dmi_pool everytime on boot or something? I found some info about it on google last week

Is it true that SP2 will patch every single icon that XP had missed patching, i.e. some old legacy Win 9x icons.

Nothing to do with 9X it was not built from the 9X code base, NT was a totally seperate project than 9X and was a ground up build.

Yeah DX9.0c is in 2123-2134 so yes it's in 2126 and will be in final too :)

In fact, win32 was built on NT first and then backported to win3.1 to make 9x.

Someone said that MS was against updating DirectX in Service Packs:

I believe that the main reason for updating it in this SP is that DirectX 9.0b is considered a "Critical Update." I'm not sure what it was in 9.0a that was insecure or whatever, but since they're trying to focus on security, updating DirectX for the people who *don't* go to Windows Update is a good idea.

MS included DirectX 3.0 with SP3 for NT4, so go figure... ;)

9.0c is the equivalent of 9.1.

There won't be any more Direct X updates until Direct X 10, to be be included with Longhorn.
