 This is actually a nifty little program for people that may not have the ability to create something on their own...I am watching the progress of this but as you can tell, I am a die hard Samurize guy but still have interest since it pertains to weather...

Apparently weather.com changed the radar again and as such, the last image of each animation will be old. Summary of the problem is that basically they used to have 6 images for each animation, 1L to 6L, although their animated radar on the website only had 5, 1L to 5L. Now they've stopped updating the 6L image (as of March 2nd) so that one image is stale. I will release 2.3.0.3 as soon as I can. There are a few other small things I need to do to it first, for which I haven't had time.

haha, i was wondering why all the clouds disappeared .

also i dont know if you did this on purpose or if they changed it.. but right now the 'forecast at weather.com' link (for me) points to.. http://www.weather.com/weather/local/44243#tenday for the ten day forecast. but thats not the ten day, its just the main page for that zip. and once your there you still have to click a link to go to the ten day forecast, which takes you to http://www.weather.com/activities/other/ot...tml?locid=44243 .

so maybe you should just use that 2nd link instead?

unless you dont want it to go to the ten day and just want it to go to the main page like it does then ignore me. it just had #tenday in the url and i thought you wanted it to load the ten day forecast.

i hope that made sense.

#tenday used to work but it evidentally no longer does; I suppose I'll fix that too.

Sorry for the delay in replying..

I'm running on 1024 X 768. And, I have the program set to load in the upper left hand corner. I'll make you a deal..lol I'm installing it again (as I've just installed a new hard drive and upgraded to XP Pro.. I was on Windows 2000 when I had these errors). If I have the problem now, what I will do is create a video of what I'm seeing, and send that to you (or post it here). That way, you can see exactly what steps I'm taking to get to this error.

Patrick.

There shouldn't be any difference between 2K and XP.

Tons of schoolwork, so no time to work on the program. (I could deal with the 3 computer science projects or various complexities, the novel I had to read, and the short story I have to write, all due at various points in the next two weeks, but the 10 page folk music research paper is the lead pipe that is breaking the proverbial camel's back).

  • 2 weeks later...

Well I have a 10 page paper to do on folk music, and I've already written 20 pages of other papers for it so far. In addition to reading probably 100 pages or so a week (these readings need to be cited in the weekly 4 page paper, of which we've had 5 so far and now of course the big research paper). Basically these required seminars have a general topic (this one is "The Arts and Society") and the teacher picks the specific topic and how to run the course. I was talking to a friend and when he took it last year apparently it was a drama teacher because they merely had to do 2 performances.

This is in addition to three comp. sci. classes with projects to do.

Using it on windows ME, very nice program! I' loving, please continue to work on it, and if you need any help, please pm me :)

Btw, is there any way to add an option so it starts at boot in the next release?

its had it for almost forever...just go to settings, its on the main settings page

Still won't work for me (freezes when I start up the program, says its updating the program..)?

You might try manually downloading the new executable and replacing the old one.

Great program, thank you for the hard work!

lol I wish people would at least look at the settings before asking for 'new' ones. It's right on there on the first pane! (and has been implemented since the first release)

This may have been suggested already, but have you thought of using the public domain weather information instead of using Weather.com? That way you could take off the Weather.com logo and save some space. Since every taxpayer can use the data freely. Just an idea.

That'd be a good idea. Btw, sorry about asking for the on-boot option, I did go into p[refs, but it was late at night and I was tired. Didn't see it :\

Yes it has, and my reply is, 'find me a free one that is as data-rich aaccessible/i> a data source as weather.com is'

It has a name, I can't remember what it is. I've been there before, it has tons and tons of data. Where do you think Weather.com gets there information? They don't have enough money for national wide radars and weather stations across the country. They get it from the NOAA. Everyone does. Hamweather (http://www.hamweather.com) is a good example of using public domain information, all the information on there is from public domain servers. I'll continue to look for that URL.

    • Visual Studio finally gets long-awaited feature that developers will love by Usama Jawad Visual Studio Code is Microsoft's popular, lightweight, open-source code editor, it is actually Visual Studio that is the company's flagship integrated development environment (IDE). Although the IDE already offers a boatload of useful features for developers, Microsoft has finally introduced a long-requested capability that will be loved by many. While developers have already been able to create Git pull requests (PRs) directly within Visual Studio for the past couple of years, it had not been possible to review a PR without switching to the browser, until now. Microsoft revealed in December 2025 that it is working on UX that enables developers to do just that, and fast-forward to June 2026, and Visual Studio finally has native capabilities to open and inspect a PR, discuss feedback, and wrap up the review, all without switching to the browser. This integration works for both GitHub and Azure DevOps (including on-prem). Developers have access to multiple surfaces to open a PR, including Git Repository, Git Changes, and the Git menu in Visual Studio. Once you open a PR, all the important details will be immediately visible to you, from where you can navigate to various levels of granularity and branch states, depending on the reviews that you are engaged in. As you would expect, you also get a diff view that enables you to see code changes inline or side-by-side in a separate panel. You can also review commit-by-commit. Additionally, this UX fosters collaboration as you can leave comments, reply to threads, and resolve conversations easily. Naturally, you can also leverage Copilot to apply a code suggestion to fix a potential issue. When you are done, you have the ability to approve, complete, and merge the PR. This is a pretty major feature as it has been requested heavily for the past few years. You can try it out in Visual Studio 2026 version 18.7, made available here recently. Microsoft plans to enhance this experience further in future releases with comment filtering, a timeline of PR activity, and more.

    • Around 68% of developers are now using AI to generate code during development, and some experts are saying that a single developer using AI tools can now do the work of an entire team of 4 to 5 engineers.  According to Figma's State of the Designer 2026 report, 72% of designers now use generative AI in their workflows and 91% say it improves the quality of their work, not just their speed.  But does this mean web developers and designers are becoming less relevant, or are they simply evolving into a different kind of role? Would love to hear from developers and designers here has AI made your job easier, or do you feel threatened by how fast these tools are improving
