Have you lost a family member? Ronald Reagan gave us freedom and everyone remembers him here (left side politicians and right wing politicians, everyone respects him and knows his importance in ending the cold war and bringing freedom to us here in eastern europe)

If someone died that was close to you, I would think that you just throw them in your backyard, bury them and resume what ever you were doing before then? Because you know, if your father died perhaps, you should "GET OVER IT" because obviously he did nothing good for your country, so get over it seriously. People in America, no matter how much we hate our presidents, we still respect the office. The president becomes part of everyones family, and is therefore mourned like family (to most people anyways). Even though he's "just a president", he's still a person, and therefore we will pay our respects. So just think about that before you go talking out of your ass again.

B-52Stratofortress
tonight's actually a glorious night - forget that idea of 'the old cowboy riding into the sunset' - the truth is that the devil is dragging reagan down to hell screaming... thatcher's next... ha ha ha I thought that socialists don't belive in god and religion. If anyone if going to hell, then it's those who wanted to leave us into soviet union.

radioboy
Excellent point. as my parents described him, he was a "gentleman's gentleman". he did things that in the long run made people feel good, he was very personable, and most of his acts were to benefit the citizens, not for his own political gain. he may not have been great adminstrative wise, but people liked his attitude and personality. but the coverage is still way over blown

sfalcon
Keep in mind that this has only been a week (actually less than a week). How long did we go on and on about Princess Diana? Thank you! Remember Nixon's funeral? He was impeached for crying out loud and they still made a big deal. President's don't die everyday. It's simply because most of the people on here haven't lived long enough to witness a President's passing that this comes as such a shock. That, and it's the new youth trend to rip on Republicans, America, etc., feigning some sort of pseudo-intellectual enlightenment. It's garbage, it's tired, give it up. I'm sick of all these Michael Moore clones running around pretending to be activists.
