Synopsis' of Battles in WWI

Recommended Posts

if it was ww2, i would have said battlefield 1942. try encarta.com.

remember, the german shleifen plan wanted to avoid a two front war. they wanted to invade france quickly and then be free to fight russia. however, when going through belgui, which was neutral, they encountered some resistance and whe they reached the marne river, about 30 miles from paris, theywere defeated by the french in the first battle of the marne. this was at the begining of the war. at the end, germany made one of its last offences in the marne, and lost in the second battle of the marne.

id also recommend reading/watching(preferrebly watching, its a pretty tedious book) all quiet on the western front. good book.

battlefield 1942? are you f*cking serious? bf1942 is a crock when it comes to accurate history.

This is a great site for WWI info. http://killeenroos.com/link/ww1.html Some of the links are dead, though.

And as for All Quiet on the Western Front, it is a good novel about a front soldier's life, but it is actually fiction.

The only commercial computer games I have played that really have real historical substance are from Koei specifically ones produced by Kou Shibazawa (sp?)

edit: infact anybody trying to find an easy way to get into early Chinese history I would definately suggest The Romance of the Three Kingdoms titles, they are amazingly good games.
