I am a console gamer. I play on my one and only xbox with 14 games (including Halo) and counting.

I do play on the computer but this computer is so old that I got it back in 2000. Too old to run the latest games so when I play on pc, I play classic games like Hocus Pocus, Wolfenstein, Doom Trilogy, Quake Trilogy.

I play on the WCIII series on my mac but I prefer my GC now. About demos, you can get them on magazine covers.

Patches? A lot of PC/Mac games are rushed out the door and the companies expect patches. With a console game, companies have to do a lot more QA before it goes gold simply because there is no way to patch.

Want an example? Halo on the Xbox versus the PC/Mac versions. It takes several patches to get it playable. That is pathetic.

It is true that they sometimes publish enhancements/free addons (WCIII FT had a bonus campaign added later as a free patch). What I don't like are the glaring/critical bugs in a computer game release. You should not have to wait for a patch to enjoy the game.

PC delivers a deeper more involving experience, apart from certain games such as Shenmue I&II, Zelda, FF - but I think you'll agree there are more games of this ilk on the PC.

There's also a much better online side to PC gaming, for obvious reasons, and one must also remember to credit the graphics!

And who could forget mouse + keyboard! FPS on a console? You must be joking.

I currently have my PC hooked up to my DLP Projector, being projected onto an 8' picture window shade in my pitch dark basement. There is definitely no crowding needed around a 17" monitor =)

So yea..PC Gamer here..though I was stressed out on whether to get the system in my sig, or an Xbox after playing a friend's X for a couple days.

I ain't into any of this "mine's better than yours" sh!t. What a waste of time. I just go where the good games are whether they be PC or console.

Think of all the fantastic games you'd miss if you only stuck to one format!

you have a point, but the best vid card in a console is more or less a geforce 2 MX - Literally.

those dont even have Shader technology. I voted PC - I have a pc that has all the latest gear :woot:

You're falling into the age old trap of equating "better graphics = better game" which is nonsense. Graphics only back up the gameplay. If that's not there then the visuals don't mean sh!it. Most gamers, especially non-PC gamers, don't give a flying f*ck about shading technology - that's reserved for the PC anoraks with their 3D-Mark scores.

Again....it's all about the gameplay, not the graphics.

    • There is a lot of reasons not to use Edge but faster fixes and security updates is not one of them.
    • Can't reproduce. I installed Edge, went to neowin.net > accepted the cookie consent > used menu to go to forums, everything loads and I can browse around the forums. If you can't interact with the dialog on the forums for some reason, go to the main site and accept the cookie consent there? It is true that the site will not function properly until the cookie consent is accepted or rejected,. it's a legal requirement and I also know that certain VPN/ad blockers block it, which is a user related issue and not a neowin.net problem.   This is not our cookie consent dialog. Gotta love browser hijacking... /s Edit: this may be what Californians see, I will confirm with our consent provider.
