I prefer consoles myself, PCs just aren't my thing for gaming. I use my PC for purposes other than gaming. Mostly because it's a family PC. If I had my own PC in my room that I could upgrade for me and have how I wanted, I would probably play games on it. Main reason being for framerates.

Well I can't ass myself to upgrade my PC every second year so I rather stick with consoles. I play all kinds of games, but mostly platforms, racing and fighting and FPS. While computers run the FPS games best, it falls in comparission to the consoles with the rest of the genres I like.

It's like saying whats better, Martha Stewart or Jenna Jameson. COMON GUYS!

One's vesatile but fugly and runs/creates all sorts of useless crap made out of turd and the other is upgradeable so it can pull off some new tricks up her sleaves

I've got a modded Xbox with about 45 games on it but I find myself usually on the PC. You really need a med to high end gaming pc to get to most out of the newer games. My 2 cents worth is the true gamer is a PC gamer. I can't see getting the same incredible graphics playing HL2 on my PC compared to any console. No Way. Maybe the Playstation 4 or Xbox 5 might be able to put out the graphics.

Well... considering that I don't have oodles of money to spend on computer equipment, I'd have to say that my primary gaming machine is the PS2.

It's got pretty much everything that I need. GT3 is still the best racing game that I've ever played (on any system, anywhere). DOA2:Hardcore is a fabulous fighting game... for many reasons.

I just traded my old PS2 for the new slimline model (I gave $20 and my old console for the new one). I've gotta say... it's pretty impressive. The fact that they've been able to cram all that power into something the size of two discmans... wow.

I'm not much for FPS games... when i'm in the mood, I'll play CS 1.6 on my desktop (P4 1.8, 1 GB RAM). Otherwise, the PS2 does me just fine. The hassle of getting a computer up and running for gaming is also a turn off... with the PS2, just plug it in and go!

As for the XBox... I really don't like how Microsoft threw together a basic computer (I mean really basic), gave it some firmware (and made sure it couldn't crash), and called it a console. The CPU in the XBox isn't even a true 128-bit processor (like the PS2 is). It's a 64-bit processor (if that...) with 128-bit cache so that the processor can access the first 64 bits and then the next 64 bits for a calculation. I could go on for a while... as an engineer... it's just poor design. Also... everyone says that the built in hard drive is an advantage for the XBox... perhaps it is in some ways... but think about if you want to go to your friend's house to play GT3. With a PS2, you have all your cars saved on the memory card (which fits nicely in your pocket). With the XBox, you'd need to lug it along with you.

I don't really want to go bashing the XBox... that's not really my style. It's just not worth the money for me. If others like it, great, keep using it.

As for PC gamers... if you have the money and it's worth it to keep your system up to date to play games with the highest framerates... well...

Just a thought... think about the fact that those computers (with out any upgrades) will go obsolete in 2 years (as far as the market goes). With consoles, my friend's PS2 (which he got 2 years ago) can still play todays PS2 games.
