Your Mac Hardware Setup

Recommended Posts

Here is a snap of my Powermac G4 1.25GHz, with 512MB of RAM.

Just running a crappy generic 19" monitor through the DV convertor - the monitor has damage on the side after my boss dropped it whilst unloading them this year - save sending it back, I just volunteered to use it as the damage is only to the casing.

Loving this mac.. its awesome!

nobody asked for your opinion nor do any mac users care

this IS NOT the "post your opinions on why PC's are better then mac thread" and you are totaly off topic

i have had well enough of you PC fanboys comming in here and not contrubting anything usefull to these threads

do you see the mac users here running into the PC hardware section and posting "PCs suck" in every other thread? posts such as this are starting to make the mac section a very unpleasurable place to be as PC users have to come in and turn every thread and turn it into a PC vs Mac discussion, and i feel something should be done

crawl back to the dell gutter you came from, moron

ok shut up you ****in n00b...each computer has there own place, ok?and I owned once a performa too, with OS7, and I can tell you macs are NOTHING like that anymore.

so just shutup before you open your mouth next time, please. ;)

I just wouldn't troll/brag about owning the cheapest dell consumer desktop: diminsion 2400. It really shows where your priorities in life are (I'll leave you to make your own conclussions about education, finacial situation, living arrangements, and sexual preferences) - but if we could do that in private messages or something, that would keep this thread from being destroyed.

But we're way off topic now.

Would posting pictures of your apple notebook in places other than your desk be appropriate?

I use my ibook almost exclusively infront of the fireplace or in my back yard and my powerbook is often at the olympic plaza or the gardens - much more beautiful and vibrant places than I have in my home.

Might make for some interesting photos to compliment the ones of people's offices/rooms.

I actually dont mind the G5s to tell you the truth... I am actually eyeing a G5 on eBay.

Once again.. sorry for the post :)

you say it after a bunch of people come down on you

Well... lets get back on topic here... and I promised a few pages back to post my desktop...

Got my iBook yesterday, here are some pics... as you can see, they're in the living room, because honestly, why should I sit at a desk when I have AirPort networking and a good 3 hour charge on my battery? :p

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
