The Apple Extended Keyboard. It has microswitches in the keys, making for an accurate and fast typing experience. It has full travel and very tactile feedback, as well as an audible feedback that lets you know exactly when the key has been pressed. This is the BEST for gaming on my G5. The only keyboard that even comes *close* is the Tactile Pro by Matias, and it costs $100. This keyboard: free courtesy of Surplus Exchange downtown.

how do u connect it up to the g5??? i want to use that as well... got one connected up to a classic :p

Granted, this is the best keyboard ever, but you could get the Matias Tactile Pro for $100 which is only $40 more than the adapter would cost you...and it uses the same keyswitch technology the Apple Extended does...really I think it's about the only option for this kind of keyboard. Good Luck!

Things to note:

Keyboard is an Apple Extended Keyboard. The first one. This is the best keyboard ever, in my opinion.

Apple Computer, Inc. mousepad, circa 1980's on wall.

DooM 3 poster. I already have it pre-ordered.

I thought I should post this mostly b/c I find it funny that I am using a 20 (?) year old keyboard on a two-month old machine...

I used to have that exact same desk! How are you getting the thing to stop from collapsing in on itself with those monitors on the side? That was a great desk and it was a shame to have to leave it behind when I moved. The thing was just not good after taking it apart after movnign once, I wasn't going to risk doing it again.

Yea I was looking on eBay at them and they're not too bad, but rather pricey for a keyboard. But would the Apple button fuction as the Windows button and so forth?

Well, I know that it works the other way around (the Windows key functions as the Apple key on mine), so I would assume that it would.

edit: Personally, I love the Microsoft Natural keyboards. Unfortunately, a drink spill killed my original model a few months ago (I'd had it since 1997), and I sold my Natural Pro with my old Dell that I sold recently. I'm going to look on eBay soon to see if I can pick up a new one (a Pro, or even an original, if I can find it for a decent price). The only ones I never liked were the Natural Elite. I hated the arrangement of the arrow keys. The whole Elite felt cramped since they tried to make it closer in size to a standard keyboard.

They are pricey but so worth it. I use an Apple Keyboard (The newer white ones) on my PC with no problems. Worked on Linux and Windows. The Apple Key does work as the "Windows Key", but on a PC the "Alt" and "Windows" keys are inverted. If you can get it, get it. I changed my Logitech Wireless Keyboard for this and I'm glad I made that decision. I put a Red Cold-Cathode behind the Keyboard and since the frame is clear it glows red. :cool:

Nah man I don't know why you had problems with yours, i had 20 in monitors on all three of the table areas and have seen no buckiling or warping...seems quite well built and designed by my standards, especially compared to the trwo 60" desks I demolished the tops of due to this setup...

The simplest and best keyboards I've found. They don't have all that extra crap at the top for e-mail and stuff. :D

Siri AI helps you do things like draft messages, edit photos, and pull old flight details from your email during back-and-forth conversations. You can access Siri AI through several methods, depending on the device. While "Hey Siri" remains active, iPhone users can also press the side button, swipe down from the Dynamic Island, or use a system-wide context menu on Mac to analyze on-screen text. Image via Apple If you ever need to go back and check previous interactions, you can open the dedicated Siri app to view your entire conversation history. This application privately syncs your data using iCloud, leveraging local Foundational Models alongside Apple's secure Private Cloud Compute servers to keep user data inaccessible to outsiders. On the iPhone, Apple built the assistant into the Camera app, bringing Visual Intelligence to help you split bills or count calories. Other things to know about Siri AI include systemwide dictation that automatically handles punctuation and formatting, customizable voice speeds, and a spatial 3D interface built for Apple Vision Pro. The road to Siri AI was quite bumpy for Apple, which initially promised these capabilities at WWDC 2024 when the Cupertino tech giant debuted Apple Intelligence. Apple later turned to Google, signing a $1 billion annual deal to use Gemini models instead of relying solely on its own in-house systems. However, this deal came only after consumers sued Apple because features Apple promised "did not exist at the time, do not exist now, and will not exist for two or more years."
