Can someone tell me in no more than 5 words why I should give a flying f*ck about Doom III?? Please tell me there's more to it than flashy GFX.

Do you know how many games are based off the Quake3 engine?! The Doom3 engine is the latest and greatest from the same company (id) so expect huge strides from this point on from the gaming industry. The bar has been raised so for those not using id's engine have to make/use something comparable. (such as the HL2, Unreal 3, or Crytek engine)

Understand that the excitement is not just over the game itself. (although the game should be really good from what I hear)

Like I've said before, the only reason I would download the game is to play it a couple days early. I mean, my pre-order copy (via Amazon) won't be coming in until Wednesday or Thursday, I want to play it now dammit. Add that to the fact that I have a deadline on Friday, I kind of want to be able to play through the game at a semi-leisurely pace; as opposed to pulling an all-nighter where I'm dead most of the time, just finishing the game for work.

Plus, how can you NOT buy Doom 3? I mean, for ****'s sake, IT'S DOOM 3.

This game is hard! Have to take a damn **** break every 5 min to make sure I havn't **** in my pants :$, lol

This game is really good, you actually feel like your on mars, though the game starts off kinda fast imo, you get there and your like uh wtf already.
