Neowin's Official Fantasy Soccer Thread

I have created a team now... A question, how does this work? :p The players will they be as good as they are ranked now or will that change in the next season? What I am asking is should I get players who played excellent in the 03/04 season or those that I think will play good in 04/05 season? And will this be in real time with the premier league? I cant seem to find a guide or something explaining this...

Yeah, you have to pick players that you think will perform well this premiership season. Your player will be awarded points according to the criteria below as the season unfolds.

It is the team at the end of the season that accumulates the most points that wins the league.

In this sense, it is better to pick players that will score well in the criteria above as oppose to those who are actually better over all players.

Make sure you don't forget to join the Neowin League!

Whups...this is soccer...not your typical "fantasy Football"

This is NOT soccer...it's footie and that's the end of it! LOL:laugh:h::laugh:h::laugh:h:

Only uneducated Yanks call it "soccer". We Brits hate to hear it called that!;);)

I've just enterted my team...picked it in about 2 mins flat.

Come on Ollie's Dreamers!

can you change players in the middle of the season?

What solution do you think is the best, some greet players and some very poor, or the whole team being average?

I calculated total score per price and found that together you get more total point for your team with 2 players with 200 points than several players with a lower score...

But I will tweak it a bit, I am not satisfied...

^^^^In answer to above post^^^^

I have got the base of two or three very good players which will score highly then I have surrounded by cheaper players. My cheaper players are mostly young and unproven. This is a bit of a gamble, but if it pays off then I will have a few quality players whilst only paying a small amount. I have also made sure each player is likely to score highly in every catagory (assists, goals etc).

I also used another 'trick' for chosing a good squad but I will reveal later so you lot don't copy me.... :shifty:

(Although, again, it is a bit of a gamble).

We have eleven teams now! I am actually quite looking forward to this!

Just been making a few transfers - I must change about two players every day!

Ok I'm in, Team Relegation has joined the fight :D

I love the team name - it's great :D

Once the season starts transfers do not go through till the next week and only get 1 free transfer per week i think, any more than that cost you points!

Yeah, thats right!

Just making sure I pick the best players for my cause before the season starts so I won't have to do too much transfering during the season!

    • OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT memory by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT's memory, making the system more capable, current, and scalable across long-term use. Memory allows ChatGPT to remember useful details about users, including their preferences, projects, and constraints. Instead of starting every conversation from scratch, ChatGPT can use this context to provide more relevant responses in future chats. OpenAI first launched saved memories in February 2024. That feature allowed users to explicitly ask ChatGPT to save information into its memory, such as travel plans or writing preferences. However, this system had limits because it depended heavily on users giving clear instructions to remember something. Additionally, saved memories could become stale over time. In April 2025, OpenAI expanded memory by allowing ChatGPT to reference past chat context outside the saved memories list. This was powered by a background process called “dreaming,” which automatically curates memories from chat history. This made ChatGPT better at learning from natural conversation without requiring users to manually save every detail. Today, OpenAI announced a more capable and compute-efficient memory architecture built on top of dreaming. This new system improves ChatGPT’s ability to carry forward useful context, follow user preferences, and remain accurate as time passes. According to OpenAI’s internal evaluations, the new system improves factual recall from 67.9% in 2025 to 82.8% in 2026. Preference adherence improves from 55.3% to 71.3%, while accuracy over time improves from 52.2% to 75.1%. The best part of this new system is a new memory summary page where users can review ChatGPT's memories. Users can even update details, correct information, or give instructions on what topics ChatGPT should bring up and when. This new, improved memory system is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in the US starting today. It will roll out to more countries, as well as Free and Go users, in the coming weeks.
    • I work for a video production company in Australia. The camera operators shoot footage and then pass the SD card over to the editors. Much easier than handing over the entire camera. Plus, on a busy day you can hand off the SD card and then pop another in for the next shoot. Or, you might have used multiple SD cards because you need the extra space for a long shoot. I also use USB cables and wifi for transferring footage, but in many cases an SD card reader is the easiest method.
