I voted Republican, but I think I tend to be a liberal Republican. As for this election, if I was absolutely forced to vote, I'd vote Bush, but if given the option I would note vote. Fortunately I miss the election by a few months.

Probably liberal.

However, I would not affiliate myself 100% with any one party or ideology. Whatever party or person has the most ideas or policies I agree with at the time of election will get my vote - there is no use voting for a party out of habit or loyalty if someone else presents more policies you agree with.

I don't understand. Your post points to your title of neocommie and then claim to be a socialist. Communism and Socialism are not the same. Shouldn't your title be 'neosocialist'?

Actually Communism is the result of socialism even if socialist do not say so. If you read the Communist Manifesto it is apart of the ultimate progression of democracy which ends with communism.

USSR+Block Countries and China+ect were or are not true communist societies but instead communistic totalitarianism.

In his Critique of the Gotha Program, Marx explains, "Between capitalist and communist society lies the period of the revolutionary transformation of the one into the other. There corresponds to this also a political transition period in which the state can be nothing but the revolutionary dictatorship of the proletariat."

I am an advocate of individual rights, and of individual freedom and the correct word for my views is liberalism.

At the heart of western freedom and democracy is the belief that the individual man ? is the touchstone of value, and all society, groups, the state, exist for his benefit. Therefore the enlargement of liberty for individual human beings must be the supreme goal and abiding practice of any western society. ? Robert F. Kennedy (1925-1968), U.S. Senator, Speech, University of Capetown, 6/6/66

"There will never be a really free and enlightened State until the State comes to recognize the individual as a higher and independent power, from which all its own power and authority are derived, and treats him accordingly." - Henry David Thoreau

Maybe you meant Libertarianism not Liberalism?

No political affiliation - I don't really care who's in power as soon as they let me live my life. The only political opinion I have is to think Bush is the biggest joke of a president the US ever had, sad thing is, it's not a funny joke (and most of the planet seems to share my opinion of him).

No matter how the Keynesian economics may separate classical liberals and social liberals, we are all still liberals.

He means that it is liberalism, not to be confused with social/economic liberalism that is the smaller but more vocally demonized branch.

Liberalism in general is a very good thing hence we are a liberal democracy. Social/Economic liberalism is up for debate
