just release it... if he asks you to take it down, then take it down. bant said he wants nothing to do with the theming industry anymore... me and many others would like to use this theme. its not like bant is ever going to make a version of his theme like this because he doesnt care about it anymore. just release it and make us all happy.

Yes, release this and make EVERYONE happy.

You seem to forget that if this is released it will be completely against Bant's wishes. Would that make him happy? I cannot speak for Bant, so I will just quote part of the most recent message he left on neowin:

some sort of theme protection IS needed, im not saying finding tricks in stylebuilder is the best solution, but if it helps even stop 1 person from butchering our work then it is worth it.

Judging by this, I would hope you could come to the conclusion that Bant is against mods of his themes being released -- hence the "butchering our work."

Don't be an ######: Respect Bant and don't release this without his permission.

Guys, chill...

Until I don't get a word from Bant, I'm not going to release this. EVEN if he doesn't care about theming, releasing this without any permission would be "ilegal" and would be considered a RIP.

Sorry guys but that's the way it is, beleve me I also would love to release this :/

Why not start from scratch and make something similar that peole will like instead of robbing someone elses idea.

THAT would gain you more respect and frankly i have more chance finding REAL "pics" of the Olsen twins on Kaaza than u do gettin permission for this.

i think thats a little harsh :/

that's why its called a "mod" ... aren't there like a billion reluna mods out there? this is by far the best.

why should he have to start from scratch and make something similair to have people say "hey that looks like..."

    • For some reason when EU forced Microsoft to allow users to change the default browser and search provider in Windows (also no ads for Office and the likes) - it was good. But when it comes to Apple - then it's bad. BTW, Apple would have gone out of business if Microsoft wasn't pressed by US government several decades ago. 😉
    • I understand Microsoft's intention here, at least I think I do. There have been so many printer driver related problems over the years due to OEM printer drivers not be compatible with the latest Windows update, that Microsoft wants to eliminate those by controlling the printer driver updates and keeping them compatible with the latest Windows update. That is okay as far it goes, but what it can do is put limitations on printers that wouldn't be there with OEM drivers since the OEM printer drivers are not universal drivers. It's a tradeoff and one can only hope it doesn't turn all Windows printers into $69 Brother printers.
