inorder to be a mod, you must memorize the entire rules of neowin, and beable to say them in your sleep. while you keep your eyes open. nono, thats just part 1. part 2 of your test is you must know the names of all active members, and recite them in the style of the admins choosing. part 3 is you must go on a scavanger hunt for some things that are very hard to come by, once you do all of that you are put into a list of people who they will consider being a mod.

thats complete BS by the way.... atleast i think

hi just wondering how do we become a mod do we just report things or are we randomly selected

Please allow me to clarify. Becoming a mod is a very scrutinizing process.

If we see something that catches our eye (such as your avatar, signature, posting style, pictures, etc.), we go to work immediately knowing we've got a potential new staff member!

First, we wait for you to post so we can get your IP address. Then we traceroute it back to your ISP, call them with some crap story about how we're a government agency so they're too scared NOT to hand over your personal information, then we dig up public records until we find your social security number and/or passport (or other country's equivelent of a personal identification number). We then run that which allows us to get all the background information we want including, but not limited to medical records, school records, criminal records, court documents, driving history, marriage/divorce papers, financial documents, etc. From there, we go back as far as we can and begin contacting people directly such as old teachers, bosses, relatives, old girlfriends/boyfriends, neighbors, etc. From there we closely disect everything we've learned and place it all against a thorough psychological profile.

From there, we weed out the bottom 95% which leaves us with the cream of the crop to choose from.

Are YOU Top 5% Material? Are you sure? Still wanna be a mod?

;)
