WMP 10 is Released

I am going crazy over this little red X box ;-) on top right corner. no plugins running. browser cache/cookies everything flushed. system restarted still that thing is there.  :angry:

I know it is supposed to show that msn butterfly over there!!!

(t appears when I select "MSN Music Preview" online store.)

I dug a bit into registry and found these entries...  :whistle:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Services\MSNMusic]

"ImageLargeUrl"="http://beta.music.msn.com/client/msnlogo.png"

"ImageSmallUrl"="http://beta.music.msn.com/client/msnsmall.png"

"ImageMenuUrl"="http://beta.music.msn.com/client/msnsmall.png"

the third entry I've entered manually but is still not helping and it opens from a browser window.

if you look under napster section all entries are there..and napster icon works fine  :blink:

Now works fine for me.

Thanks :yes:

Ok, this is getting on my nerves. Everything works perfectly, I don't get the X problem, but I can't get Info Center View to work.

The Help for WMP10 gives me this...

In my opinion, this is a dirty stinking lie though. All it gives me is this...

What to do? Am I right in my suspicions that it only works for US users...?

Anyone of you have any trouble displaying the new visualization, Energy Bliss? I downloaded and loaded it today, but it wouldn't work. Each time it freezes my WMP10. Just wondering if it's something to do with my comp. or that it exists on some of y'all comps. as well... :huh: Thanks

open WMP 10-->choose one online service other than MSN preview-->go to tools-->options-->privacy-->clear caches-->close WMP10-->go to IE options clear your IE temp files then click these links:

now open WMP10 and choose MSN preview.

Well, that fixed mine :) Thanks, Man. By the way all you people who think Quicktime has something to do with it, it doesn't. I just installed it on a laptop that never had Itunes or Quicktime and it had same problem.

Worked for me. Thanks! :D

Ok, I got the album art to pull in, now I can't get the folders in My Music to display the album art. This worked in the other versions, but not now. I know how I would normally go about it but since the art isn't downloading I can't set the album art to display in the folders.

Any suggestions?

Guys, before performing the fix mentioned by LastSamurai, go into your internet explorer properties and under advanced, scroll all the way down to the security portion and make sure "empty temporary internet files when browser is closed" is un-checked. They tied the damn butterfly logo in with your internet cache, which means that everytime you clear it, the problem will return unless you perform the fix again. Damn stupid I say......

the problem for me is to show the album art in the info centre view, I have this wide open white space above Listeners Also Liked...

please help, all the connect to the internet to retrieve info is all set, the album art is displayed under the playlist but it won't show in the main info centre view for MSN Music Service

Can anyone help me with this problem? Is there anyway to save the sort option for all playlists? I want it to sort by name everytime, and it doesn't seem to save permanently unless I save it as a playlist. Like for example, say I have 1-5 short video clips in a folder that aren't in a playlist, I highlight them and click enter and then they go to the playlist, but in the wrong order. It will go 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 instead of 1-5. How do I fix this permanently?

I've got a problem with the upgraded version:

In the Library, in WMP 9 I could open the right album by sorting by artists and then albums, and when I closed WMP, it would remember which album was open in the Library.

After the upgrade, if I close WMP 10, and I open it again and go to the Library, it has collapsed all the artist and album configuration and it has selected All Music instead of the last album I was playing.

Anyone noticed this? (... it's possible it could just be fixed by a reinstall or reboot, but I doubt it and I'm too lazy to try it cause I got lotsa stuff running right now)

    • Dude, it's a .reg away from a permanent modification. If you're a power user, look it up and keep the .reg and stop being a crybaby expecting MS to include customization for everything on a generalist OS. The default is what's the best UX for the majority of the userbase, non techie people.

    • Studio MDHR reveals Cuphead sequel and an 8-bit platformer spin-off by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Studio MDHR has been rather silent about its next major gaming project since the release of Cuphead back in 2017. However, that ended today during the Summer Game Fest presentation, with the studio revealing not one but two project announcements. First, the studio confirmed that it is currently in the middle of developing a brand-new Cuphead game, bringing back the iconic characters for another adventure. Just like the last game, this is slated to be a fully hand-animated endeavor. This also means there isn't a release date attached to it yet. “Craftsmanship is at the heart of everything we do here at Studio MDHR,” says co-founder Chad Moldenhauer. “When it came time to peel back the curtain and share a little bit about what we’ve been up to, we couldn’t imagine a more fun way to do so than with today’s Special Bulletin. The studio is working on this new Cuphead with help from Toronto’s Stop Motion Department and Continue Agency. At the same time, Studio MDHR also revealed that another part of the team has been working on a different Cuphead installment. Dubbed the Mighty Cuphead Adventure, this is taking a different art direction to the original. "In true Studio MDHR fashion, this game goes beyond just taking inspiration from the classics of the 1980s… it is actually built with technology of the era," the studio explained. "That's right: Mighty Cuphead Adventure is programmed in assembly language and designed with the exacting specifications of the Sega Master System home gaming console in mind." Aside from releasing on PC and modern consoles, Mighty Cuphead Adventure will even be playable on the 1985-released Sega Master System. A release date has not been announced just yet.
