My Uni does have some NT machines, but very few. Only for running specific software for certian courses.

My PC's are running Redhat Linux, and we also have a number of Unix boxes too.

My Uni's too cheapscate to pay for M$ offerings :)

Can you please be more specific about the browser that you use? Are you using Netscape, Konqueror, Opera, MoZilla, or what?

Do they have other Web Browser installed? er.. Konqueror? See if you can view the web with other Browser...

Opera worked fine :) I often use SuSE-Linux.

My guess is the usual Netscape, compatibillity problem.

Rendering of HTML in Netscape (4.7x anyway, 6.1 is much better) is random, alignments, for example, aren't done in some cases and overdone in others.

I use 6.1 more often than 4.7x, it's more W3C compatible.

The problem is I -can't- install anything due to network security, that and if I did I would not need to worry about my uni connection issues for much longer...wrath of the insane admin...

We have decided not to support Netscape 4.x ... sorry :(.

It's just too much of a hassle to get everything to show the right way.

I'm working on Netscape6 (IE and Opera already work 100%)

I tried Konqueror (part of KDE) and the the page looks good except for the fonts (Linux doesn't have the Verdana font).

Hope this doesn't jeopardize our friendship :s

You can use Heveltica, or use download some proggy (i can't remember the name) that enable you to use TTF under Linux(Verdana is in TTF ;)). Check out http://freshmeat.net :D
