Yes, next episode

So any updates on the spoiler rule? What's allowed, what's not allowed? How long you have to wait to discuss last Episode (OUT of Spoiler tag)?

What kind of stuff about future episode is spoiler? A guess/speculation considered?

Anything that could ruin the plotline for anyone else should be considered in a spoiler tag IMO. There are many people who are just tuning in and then finding this thread and going all the way through it.

Might as well be curteous to everyone I believe, however no strict rule has been set down.

Thanks Chris (Y)

Well then the question is what would you consider "ruining the plotline"? Because if you're worried that the plot might be ruined for people just tuning in to the series, then that means every single post would have to be spoiler tagged since it talks about the current plot! Know what I mean? I just think that people need to use care in revealing future things that haven't aired yet.

Imagine, if something big happens (like the Shannon thing), then there would be at least 5 or 6 pages full of blacked out text in which people are going to read anyways. I say that if the episode has played in the West coast, it is fair game to not tag it. Maybe there needs to be a UK thread for Lost started up as well to make it a little more fair for them if it's really necessary.

I see your point... well I'm guessing that one week would be fine (mind you I'm not a mod or admin, so this is just my own thoughts on the matter). Take for example the Shannon thing, which went down this last week, use the spoiler tag on everything that might suggest what happen for a period of one week. Next week the same thing, anything that's big, use the spoiler tag for one week. If people have had a chance to catch up by the next episode, that's their problem. That's my opinion of course

That actually sounds like a good idea. (Y)

So ONE week spoiler taggage it is! :)

agreed. One should presume that there would be updated knowledge about the show on an official "Lost" topic. Thus they shouldn't complain if they fall under last weeks information. UK'ers beware however. I'm not even sure how to use a spoiler tag. But the whole "Shannon thing" I think is a little messed up, this season doesn't seem to uphold alot of questions as season 1 did, which I thought was what made the show so compelling. The fear of the unknown. This season just seems to go in loopholes of itself, and I know lost (fan boys) will attack me for this but don't get me wrong, I love the show, just wished that there was more ... "weird" and "un-explainable" things. Makes the show more interesting, as it has been in the past. And just to add, I've come to realize that all of the characters have their names for specific reason. Such as john Lock the famous philosipher Redreau is also a philosipher and he was supposingly in the show at somepoint?

There are still a TON of weird and unexplainable things this season...

1) The purpose/origination of the hatch

2) The purpose of the radio transmision of the numbers

3) Where is Walt? (Or what happened to him?)

4) What happned to the tailies?

5) Who is Mr. Eko?

etc. and so on and so forth.

Remember, the producers and writers of the show have made it abundantly clear that they have had about 5 seasons worth of material since the beginning so I have a feeling that we will be getting MANY more questions than answers in the seasons to come. :)

We're only on episode 6 of probably 22-24 episodes. PLENTY more to cover! ;)

2) The purpose of the radio transmision of the numbers

3) Where is Walt? (Or what happened to him?)

4) What happned to the tailies?

5) Who is Mr. Eko?

Out of those, the one I want answered the most is the origin of the numbers & the hatch. After that would have to be where is Walt/what happened to him.

FIVE?????

Five seasons each lasting 24 episodes?

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeit!!!!

That's a lot of questions! (And Bandwith) :)

Just be curteous to other members on major points. If you go out and say something that is essential to the plot it's going to be needing a spoiler tag.

Little things like "What happened with ______ grabbing the ______ for ______ ? What did he/she say?" most likely can just be put down normal. If it's something like "OMG a second plane is in the series!" then, well spoiler that ****!

Use common sense here, that's all I'm really asking. I for one don't want things ruined if I miss an episode and check the thread to see what people thought.

Anyway.. 5 seasons, I haven't heard of that. I don't know if it can hold out that long really. That's pretty nuts to be honest.

I think there are already rules about posting spoilers in Neowin... and a thread also. So lets start "talking" again about LOST. Who believes the Kentaro guy in the ABC forums? have someone else read them???

ive read what he had to say, its pretty crazy... it feels almost impossible to believe just because our own common sense wont let us, but this guy has so much detail in what he says in things and it makes sense too. he even can very well and very technically link things from the show to the "real thing"

i find it hard to believe and yet hard not to believe at the same time.

what do you guys think?

Yeah I would like the link as well.

On another note, I found something really interesting on one of the 'viral' websites for the show. I'm going to put this behind a spoiler tag since it might be slightly spoilerish although I don't believe so. I think it just raises more questions than answers but if you're curious, venture on!

If you go to http://thehansofoundation.org site and click on 'Active Projects', you can now click on the Life Extension project and you will see a report about an old orangutang. Most people already know about this change but there is more and I found something really interesting.

If you place your mouse over the last sentence in the memo, you will be able to click through a link that will take you to another page. This new page looks like the original access denied pages but it's all screwed up (ala ilovebees.com or the oceanic airline website). However, there is also a form box with a submit button in the middle of it all. I decided to look at the source of the page and found something of interest towards of the end...

<div style="position:absolute; top:185px; left:246px; visibility: hidden; z-index: 5;" id="datestamp"
>110,101,103,97,104,110,101,112,111,67|102,105,103,46,111,104,103,95,114,116,108,47,115,101,103,97,109,105</div>

I thought this was kind of weird so I was thinking what could those numbers have possibly meant. So I took a while guess and guess they might have been decimal ASCII codes.

I looked up the codes and translated them to get this message:

negahnepoCfig.ohg_rtl/segami

After some thinking, i tried reversing it and I got the following:

images/ltr_gho.gifCopenhagen

I typed Copenhagen into the form box and clicked on submit and it took me to that image that was in the link above. I've attached the image to the post for those that might want to see it. If you take careful note, you'll notice that the confidential letter was pre-dating the press release about 'Joop' on the actual page.

I wonder what all of this means?!?!?!

Learned something VERY important

11/16 - Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse reveal: It's always possible [shannon] could pop up in someone's backstory. But she is definitely dead. When a character dies on the island, they stay dead. In the same moment that we decided Shannon would die, [we also decided that] Ana-Lucia would be responsible for that death. It would be the first time one castaway was responsible for killing another, and it would give so much inherent conflict and trauma [heading to] the merge. We're walking a very tenuous tightrope with her, but we feel that over the course of the next two episodes the audience will hopefully get a better understanding for that character and what she's been through. [shannon] was shot. Walt's disappearance and, ultimately, Michael's efforts to reunite with him were part of a grander plan. As we move into the middle run of episodes, we're definitely emphasizing the Jack-Kate-Sawyer romantic triangle. The level of sexual tension between those three characters is definitely being ramped up. As the respective leaders of their respective units, Ana-Lucia and Jack have a great deal in common with each other, and that's definitely something we're going to be exploring. But [the fact that] Ana-Lucia inadvertently murdered one of the members of the tribe doesn't exactly [lend itself] to candlelight dinners and walks on the beach. She is a woman; she will have romantic entanglements. But I think the one that will begin to emerge over the season will be the one that you least expect. We're definitely going to be paying attention to [the Charlie and Claire] relationship, but it's not going to turn in ways the audience expects. I think that [the] question [as to what the numbers mean] will never, ever be answered. I couldn't possibly imagine [how we would answer that question]. We will see more ramifications of the numbers and more usage of the numbers, but it boggles my mind when people ask me, "What do the numbers mean?" You'll learn more about [why Ethan abducted Claire] this season. [We still plan on revealing why the plane crashed this season.] In the next string of episodes, one of the really compelling backstory elements is what happened to Jack's marriage. We think Julie Bowen is amazing and she and Matthew Fox are so great in scenes together, and I think the audience is really curious as to what went wrong there. And you should pay attention to Mr. Eko's stick. That stick is an important ongoing clue. [We will learn more about the monster this season.

Not reading any spoilers about tonight.

I think we will have a lot of answers about the others tonight...or at least how they operate. With the exception of just a couple instances (the korean guy and Mr. Echo watching the other's walk past, last episode with that lady went missing while they were climbing the cliff), we haven't really seen what they have done and are capable of.

We know that they can sneak up on people very quickly and they are very quiet. They also seem to kidnap people. And they at least have human legs

But that is all we really know.

Plus we will have a ton of new questions. Ain't that grand?

    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). Other improvements Private relay access control via shared auth token Relay fallback notifications when a custom relay is unreachable Broadcast mode toggle in sharing settings Android release build fixes (split-per-ABI APKs, universal APK preservation) UI polish: mobile safe-area insets, dropzone layout, transfer progress animation Bug fixes for minification-related serialization issues and system tray icon loading What's Changed feat(relay): add relay status functionality and settings UI (a120cdf) feat(relay): implement custom relay server configuration and verification (51276c7) feat(relay): add configuration for private relay access and enhance observability features (48fbabf) feat(relay): enhance relay URL validation, display connection status (d4fffa0) feat(relay): add RelayChangeGuard component and enhance relay-related translations (16ba514) feat(broadcast): add toggle setting for broadcast mode in sharing UI (ca6d977) fix(relay): correct QUIC discovery port, pin image, templatize fly.dev (52a2ba5) fix: More broken serialization due to minification (67491a9) fix(android): preserve true universal APK across per-ABI builds (e9f256f) fix(ui): conditional safe-area insets padding on mobile (1182f0e) refactor(transfer): CircularRing component animation fix (944572b) chore(android): drop x86 and x86_64 release APKs, keep universal+arm64+armv7 (34ada0b) Download: AltSendme 0.4.1 | ARM64 | ~9.0 MB (Open Source) Download: AltSendme for MacOS | Android Links: AltSendme Home Page | GitHub | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
    • OK so SearXNG is a meta search engine that you can install locally or use via a public instance. It scrapes other search engines which you choose and then sorts the results. Not as complicated as multiple relays
    • The only difference here is that you think you came up with these reasons. You didn't. These age old fearmongering lies (that were NEVER true) were funded by and the anger stoked by Putin through proxies like Farage (and later in the USA, Trump) and filtered down through the skinheads, Neonazis, etc. until it reached the uninformed, ignorant, and gullible -- never realizing they were being played for fools against their own best interests. Even now, despite all of the EVIDENCE proving that Brexit was a terrible mistake for ALL citizens of the UK and that its supporters were tricked by Putin's proxies into sabotaging their own nation, you're still here defending these well-known lies as if they were ever true. Not only are they not true. They NEVER were. So, when are you going to realize that you were lied to and actually get angry at the liars and charlatans who lied to you, instead of blaming the innocent people they lied to you about?
