Learned something VERY important

11/16 - Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse reveal: It's always possible [shannon] could pop up in someone's backstory. But she is definitely dead. When a character dies on the island, they stay dead. In the same moment that we decided Shannon would die, [we also decided that] Ana-Lucia would be responsible for that death. It would be the first time one castaway was responsible for killing another, and it would give so much inherent conflict and trauma [heading to] the merge. We're walking a very tenuous tightrope with her, but we feel that over the course of the next two episodes the audience will hopefully get a better understanding for that character and what she's been through. [shannon] was shot. Walt's disappearance and, ultimately, Michael's efforts to reunite with him were part of a grander plan. As we move into the middle run of episodes, we're definitely emphasizing the Jack-Kate-Sawyer romantic triangle. The level of sexual tension between those three characters is definitely being ramped up. As the respective leaders of their respective units, Ana-Lucia and Jack have a great deal in common with each other, and that's definitely something we're going to be exploring. But [the fact that] Ana-Lucia inadvertently murdered one of the members of the tribe doesn't exactly [lend itself] to candlelight dinners and walks on the beach. She is a woman; she will have romantic entanglements. But I think the one that will begin to emerge over the season will be the one that you least expect. We're definitely going to be paying attention to [the Charlie and Claire] relationship, but it's not going to turn in ways the audience expects. I think that [the] question [as to what the numbers mean] will never, ever be answered. I couldn't possibly imagine [how we would answer that question]. We will see more ramifications of the numbers and more usage of the numbers, but it boggles my mind when people ask me, "What do the numbers mean?" You'll learn more about [why Ethan abducted Claire] this season. [We still plan on revealing why the plane crashed this season.] In the next string of episodes, one of the really compelling backstory elements is what happened to Jack's marriage. We think Julie Bowen is amazing and she and Matthew Fox are so great in scenes together, and I think the audience is really curious as to what went wrong there. And you should pay attention to Mr. Eko's stick. That stick is an important ongoing clue. [We will learn more about the monster this season.

Every interesting stuff.

So we still need to spoiler tag

Shannon Killed

?

586818070[/snapback]

Just spoiler tag it, it's not THAT much effort  :)

586818112[/snapback]

Well, we had arrived to the conclusion that we are going to spoiler tag stuff from an episode for a week only. After a week, it's fair game.

I say let's follow these simple rules for spoiler tagging:

1) Tag it if what you are discussing happened on the show within the past week (i.e. Shannon's episode last week does not have to be tagged anymore since it has been a week).

2) Explain what you are tagging so that people can make a choice as to whether or not to look at it. In other words, if it is a FUTURE spoiler (i.e. info that is not known or stuff that will be airing in the future) please INDICATE it is in fact a future spoiler outside of the spoiler tag. If it is just discussion about the episode that just aired but less than a week old, please indicate you are just referring to the previous episode outside of the spoiler tag.

The reason I mention #2 above is because the previous post from JediX is a FUTURE spoiler from spoilerfix.com and most people would not want to read that. However, someone may read roll over it to read it since they have no idea what it is about (thinking it might be just discussion from Shannon's epside) and ruin it for themselves. Get it?

So I think if we just follow those simple rules, we should be perfectly fine! Do the mods and users agree?

WOW.. tonights lost was BRILLIANT!

everything about it, was just great. and finally, the first episode of season 2 that did not have a dumb flashback.. because there was none :)

as for the others :o! that was a crazy twist.. i always figured them to be more of a scarier human like, not just regular people... and they can be killed.

amazing episode!

This must be the only show in the world where than can have 2 episodes that end off at the same spot and still have an incredible show.

586819924[/snapback]

i thought of that too. it did stop in the exact same spot as this week.. that makes 2 this season. but it took a totally different route, to end up in the same spot. showing 2 sides of the story. the first time it happened it was involving the same characters.. and recapping 10 min in 1 hour. this time, it was 48 days, in 1 hour :p we'll let this one slip

WOW! That was just awesome (Y) (Y)

I like being able to see more of the "Others." I also liked being able to see the change in Ana-Lucia as the days passed... now after seeing what they went through, I completely understand why she is such as a bitch. I feel sorry for her and Sayid because of what happened.

This show is one of the best

Yeah I don't think there will be anymore new episodes till January 5th that?s when Alias is starting it's new season at it's new time on Wednesday so they will want to get some new viewers

Proof? and if so when's the other "new" episode.... i cannot live without Lost

so how come with this group of survivors they took 9 of them, but the other group, also with a spy, only had one attempt??

586819957[/snapback]

Just a guess, but it is a lot harder to attack a group of 40 survivors (with several pretty strong/able men) that are also armed.

The tail section group was a sitting duck. Outside of rocks and big sticks, none of them were armed and really just 2 of them had any sense of how to protect themselves.

Good episode (Y)

There was a lot of cutting-out during this episode on digital cable... I was rather upset I couldn't watch the ep in HD... I was forced to run downstairs and watch the analog-cable television.

Did anyone else experience blackouts during the show? In the heat of the moment I thought to myself 'they must be purposely tampering with the signal to boost purchase-rate at the itunes store... LOL.

good point. i am also wondering if there are different classes of these "others" as the ones on the beach had old knives and heavily worn clothing whereas the guys on the boat that took Walt had fairly decent clothing and had guns as well.

Please use spoiler tags!!!!!!!!!!

really really good episode. Not to sound like an idiot, but who is mr. Eko again ( I have seen every episode up to now and don't recall him ) ? is it the big african - american guy? ( I find it hard to learn there names so quickly)

Yeah, he's the big guy that clubbed Sawyer and Micheal with that stick when they floated back ashore.

just to add did anyone notice he was engraving stuff on the stick, and the directors noted that the stick would show some importance? Maybe if someone has a screen of that...actually i recorded the episode on my computer I'll see if I can find it.
