"Lost" TV Show - Currently Season 2 (US aired)

This is Dave:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0359577/

He is the same actor from Sex and the City, the bald guy who married Charlotte. He is in those flashback scenes of Hurley and Libby (possibly) in the mental hospital.

A theory of Henry Gale: We are asking why would he be so stupid? Why would he bury the real Henry Gale with the license, wouldn't they check, etc? Maybe Fake-Henry is actually being used by the Others and is in fact innocent? Maybe he really did crash with his wife who is being held captive by the Others and he is being forced to trick the Survivors? In taht Canadian promo he is yelling, "I am a good person" or something to that effect. :iiam:

Man, I love this show. As soon as it goes on I immediately shush my wife and son and tell them to hold it till commercial break. :D

this is also in the source code:

"I survived a horrific plane crash and am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents."

cool...

It alsop shows up behind the Important announcement message on the front page on the site.

Anyone have any ideas on the Map that was inivisible ink on the Door. I paused my Tivo on that scene for like 5 mins. Still have no idea what its a map to. Kinda has the shape of the room they are in though.

I think it is a map of the island itself, with all the hatches around the island. What intrigues me is that the center of the island is a big "?".

Nice. Thanks this helps alot.

Has anyone read Stephen King's Dark Tower series. This has a very peculiar resemblance. Especially the third book the "The Wastelands"

Wow...

Looks like faint connectors between hatches, most likely underground connectors? I looked up "cogito ergo doteo" and "doteo" does not appear to be a latin word. But it can mean this. So, "I think therefore, Department of Transportation emergency organization"? :pinch: Apparently, though, "doleo" means depressed...

On the right side, "hic sunt dracones" = "Here be the dragons".

On the bottom, a notation of "system wide failure of dharmatel intranet", three dates including on as recent as 01.06.05. Now assuming that we are still oeprating in present day, that means that the entry and system wide failure occurred after the plane crash.

Is there a picture of the map without the translations?

There are a few in this thread.

I wonder about the translations. In the comments on teh bottom the author states somethign about French phrases? Unless I am confused those are all Latin phrases, correct?

Translation time:

Sursum Corda - Lift up your hearts

Credo Nos in Fluctu Eoden Es - I think we're on the same wavelength

Liberte te ex Infernus - Save yourself from hell

Hic Sunt Dracones - Here are Dragons

Ursus Martimus - Polar Bear

Cogito Ergo Doteo - Not entirely sure. The Latin phrase Cogito Ergo Sum means "I think, therefore i am" or "I think, therefore i exist". I'm lost on the doteo part tho... i've never heard that one before

Nil Actum Reputa Si Quid Superest Agendum - Dont Consider anything has been done if anything is left to be done

I think that doteo is a typo in translation and should be doleo. There are a few obvious errors. Check up in the top left hand notation referencing a conflict between AH and MGD and abandoning the Cerberus station. It says "doe to" when it is clear it ought to be "due to".

So which hatch do you think the tailies were in? I recall to get to the Swan hatch they walked along the oceanside and the ocean awas on their left, so that would suggest they were on teh eastern side of the island.

Do you think the beach they are on is directly South of the Swan hatch?

Interesting that to find the Staff hatch, Claire and Kate walked right past another hatch.

What does D.I.H.G stand for? Dharma Initiative H... Group?

THAT acually makes sense then!

Cogtio Ergo Doleo would be "I think, therefore i Suffer" or "I think, therefore i am depressed"

as for DIHG... definitely Dharma Initiative... something :) i'm workin on that one.

    • Edifier S3000MKII hi-fi audiophile grade bookshelf speaker is at its lowest price now by Sayan Sen Yesterday we covered a bunch of Dolby Atmos soundbar deals with several ones from Sony, as well as from JBL, Samsung, Polk Audio, and more. You can check them out in this dedicated piece. Those are not audiophile category speakers though as they are built with home theater use in mind. If you are searching for the former then Edifier has its S3000MKII at its lowest price at the moment (purchase link under the specs table down below). This is a two-way bookshelf monitor speaker designed to produce accurate sound. While it may not produce the best high-fidelity audio possible out there, it should still be significantly better than what you will get on soundbars of this price range. As such it will do justice to high-res audio played back through it. The only thing that may feel lacking is sub-bass as Edifier claims the unit can go down to 38 Hz, which should be enough for studio monitor purposes, but not for deep room-shaking rumbling bass. Where this does excel though is in its treble reproduction. With its super-tweeter, it claims to go as high as 40 kHz in the frequency spectrum, which should offer a sense of "air"yness. This is an active speaker which means it packs its own amplfication. It has a top-notch Class D amp that may be able to rival many Class AB designs too in terms of sound reproduction quality. The technical specs of the Edifier S3000MKII are given in the table below: Specification Value RMS Output Power 256W RMS (Treble: 8W × 2, Mid-Low: 120W × 2) Tweeter Driver 107mm × 107mm Planar Magnetic Tweeter Mid-Low Driver 6.5-inch (179mm) Long-Throw Aluminum Diaphragm Driver Frequency Response 38Hz – 40kHz Signal-to-Noise Ratio ≥ 85dB (A) Bluetooth Version Bluetooth 5.0 Bluetooth Codec Qualcomm® aptX™ HD Wireless Speaker Link Proprietary 5.8GHz wireless connection between speakers Supported Hi-Res Audio Hi-Res Audio Certified, up to 24-bit/192kHz Digital Processing XMOS XU216 Digital Signal Processor Audio Inputs Balanced XLR, Optical, Coaxial, USB Type-B, Line In, Bluetooth Input Sensitivity (USB) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Optical) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Coaxial) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Bluetooth) 450 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Balanced XLR) 1000 ± 50mV Input Sensitivity (Line In) 600 ± 50mV ADC Capability Up to 24-bit/192kHz DSP Capability Up to 24-bit/192kHz DIX Capability Up to 24-bit/216kHz DAC Capability Up to 32-bit/384kHz XMOS Processing Power Up to 2,000 MIPS Edifier S3000MKII Audiophile Active (Powered) Wireless Speakers: $799.99 (Sold by Edifier US, Shipped by Amazon US) If you do not have the kind of budget to spend on the S3000MKII, you can also check out the Edifier R1280Ts which is right now on sale at just $114 (its lowest price in a very long time). • Ignoring the fact that this "colony" kicked the empire of King George's arse during those early years... You are confusing the First Industrial Revolution (which was clearly pulled out of some butt-hurt Brit historian's arse after the fact) with the Second Industrial Revolution (aka now called the Technological Revolution, undoubtedly by that same butt-hurt Brit), which transitioned the world from the UK/UPS Empire to the USA as the world's only superpower. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Revolution I hope you realize that I am having big fun here.
