how come noone heard/saw the plane or the food drop. I mean you have an island full of people with nothing to do but wait for a rescue, noone saw a plane or heard it even if it was really high? and it couldnt have beent that high if it had to airdrop food on a specific spot.

Possible and it was night too so no one would see it

thats what i've been thinking too, except for one thing... a hot air balloon would be very bright, especially a yellow/orange one, even at night. when they fire the burners, those flames are pretty huge (and loud) and it illuminates the inside of the balloon. it might be less noticable than a plane, but not completely stealthy. but who knows, maybe the writers didn't take that into account.

I'm peeed off that we aint seen the monster again too :(

It is funny how they let a lot of the intriguing / thought provoking things die off.

It kind of makes you wonder if they do actually mean anything at all, or if they are just there to send you off on a tangent...to nowhere (because they have no meaning at all). <-- I hope not.

As for the food drop....

Desmond said he had NEVER been outside..

So how would he have got the food inside the hatch???

I'll take these comments on one at a time :p

  • The last we saw the monster was in The 23rd Psalm, and not a word since then. Not only that, but we haven't even heard Charlie or Mr. Eko even talk about it to other people. I would have talked my head off to everyone and anyone if I had seen that. In the first season, it seemed like everytime someone went into the jungle they were getting chassed by this thing. Now we hear nothing about it.
  • There is a lot of stuff that the writers have let die that I would like to explore some more, and I have a feeling that they'll pick most, if not all, of it back up at some point. But by then they may have lost to many viewers.
  • That's a good point, maybe the writers are throwing these things at us to lead us off course. Who knows? Maybe none of this is real, maybe it is just some kid's dream after watching a horror film with his big brother. At the end of season five he finally wakes up :p
  • Did Desmond say he had never been outside? He seem to know exactly where to go when he ran out of the hatch, so I don't know if that's completely true. Maybe he did say that, but he wasn't telling the truth. At any rate, that doesn't match what he actually did, because he ran off into the jungle like he knew exactly where he was going.
    • The fact that Desmond has not been seen or heard from since he left the hatch tells me that he might have known the location of another hatch and has taken shelter there.

[*]I think the supply drop (we don't know it is just food yet-- so I think it is safe to say that there could be more than just food in there), happens every so often. How else was the hatch stocked so well? Even with one person down there, after 3 years there would have to be some type of restocking. I think this happens on a regular basis and the lockdown is meant to keep the people inside the living quarters. The timer automatically resets if it gets down to 0 during the supply drop. So if my theory is true, it would mean that Desmond had indeed been outside so that he could bring the supplies inside the hatch.

    • I don't think it would be feasable for a supply drop from a balloon. It would just take way to long to get the supplies to the island, unless they were doing it from another part of the island. If the balloon came from the island, or a nearby island, I might be more inclined to believe you, but we don't have any proof of that yet. In fact, I think it is way to early to speculate where the supplies came from.

Not sure if this has been posted here or not yet but doesnt hurt anyway. Here is what happened....dont read if you dont want POTENTIAL spoilers.

The following posted at the fuselage.

This past weekend, bss1 opened up a little chatroom. At first you were "chatting" with "Walt" and he was giving out little hints as to where he was. Then on Sunday night, we were graced by the presence of Dharma Inc, an individual claiming to be an intern for one of the writers.

On that night, he dished out the goods from 3 pages of info he was allowed to talk about, but we had to ask the right questions to get the goods. The following are the SPOILERS that after picking through all the transcripts and my notes, I've cleaned up and categorized.

ENJOY!!!!

The Dharma Initiative

- Neither the Adam and Eve bodies or the boat people who took Walt were the DeGroots.

- Did Dr. Candle lose his arm, or did he want it cut off? The missing limbs are very important.

- Jin and Sun have a connection to Dharma. Through a parent.

- NO underwater station, all on the island, but there is one near the coast (that guy vacationing in HI got shots of this)

- Dharma is not corrupt, it was corrupted.

- The DeGroots are alive, but we won't see them again this season.

- we will get to see the other missing splices from the Orientation film eventually.

The Stations and the Incident

- The Arrow station was affected by the first incident, but the stations weren't destroyed by it

- we will find out how Kelvin died, he was 42 when he died.

- one of the Dharma stations do not "control" the monster, but they are related

- astrology is important, not alot, but it is.

- blast doors will be activated soon, not who, but WHAT activates them - inner explosions

- the incident is linked to the concrete wall

- the incident deals with a nuclear reactor meltdown

- the incident was many years before the crash

- Desmond was not the one who edited the Orientation film

- A CLUE - The glass eye belongs to the one who edited the film

- we will find out about incident and the editing of the Orientation film

before season finale

- Walt is in a Hatch now.

- The Radio Tower is NOT one of the Dharma stations

- There is not a Nuclear Reactor on the Island.

- The Mural wasn't made by Desmond

- An "incident" is not the reason for the crash of flight 815

The OTHERS and the Sickness

- No Zombies (sorry Zombie crew)

- Jack's father is in posession of the Others

- "Good" people = Safer Experiments

- not sure on this one, but he said he thought he heard Nathan's last name was "Rome"

- the sickness is somewhat related to the Meningitis outbreak mentioned in the GHO letters

- Claire was NOT injected by an Other in S1

- Goodwin and Ethan are in the same group

- The Other carrying the Teddy Bear was NOT one of the Taily Children that were taken.

- Ethan and Goodwin knew about the Boat Others

General Spoilers

- we will find out about the beach cable eventually

- A CLUE: every passenger has a profession, every profession has a function

- Mr. Eko is from Nigeria and is connected to the Drug Plane

- we will see the Mid-Section of the plane crash in the S2 finale.

- we will see what happened to Claire when she was taken eventually

- The Island is NOT moving

- we will get a Rose and Bernard FB in the future

- the Flashbacks/Backstories are NOT implanted memories

- we will eventually see the story of Rousseau and her crew

What if the hatch locks down the living quarters as Hurmoth said. And then during lockdown the others would bring the supplies into the hatch and then the blast doors would re-open and the supplies would be there.

Therefore this time the others know the losties are there, but that still doesn't explain why a food drop etc.

I keep on having the feeling that the whole show is just designed to be a physcological test on the viewer.

The only problem with that is the supply room is inside the living quarters. So the only thing that could happen is the "Others" bring the supplies in and just leave them outside the blast doors. But that's an interesting theory though, could be taken in several directions. Kind of makes me wonder about the crash itself and what Mr. Friendly said in Hunting Party, "...we let you live...". The doesn't make complete sense to me. If the job inside the hatch is only a two man job, then why do they need the rest of the survivors? Maybe this is a clue that the "Others" aren't part of Dharma at all.

it would be interesting if the supply drop contains loads of weapons......

I'm thinking there could be all kinds of stuff in the supply drop.

  • weapons
  • ammo
  • food
  • clothes
  • cleaning supplies (i.e. we saw in Man of Science, Man of Faith Desmond washing dishes, and then of course Kate in Everybody Hates Hurley takes a shower and supplies are required there as well)

There's a lot of stuff that is needed in the hatch that the supply drop could, well... supply. It will be really interesting to see what goodies the survivors find

What if the others are the uncorrupt people from Dharma. (Or they could be the corrupt Dharma)

I'm thinking that they are the corrupt Dharma.

- Ethan and Goodwin knew about the Boat Others

uhhhhh...no ****...

at least the Ethan part....we've already seen Ethan talking with the guy with the "beard"....

he was on the boat...we saw him talking to Ethan....was mentioning Ethan in that point really necessary?

I think by the end of the season we are gonna know what "?" is and why the plane came down and maybe another plane comes down?...that would be good I think :s

If you get a chance, check out Sledgeweb's Podcast, I think he is right about something. Because we only advance around 45 days each season, it would take 7 or more years for Sun to finally give birth. Therefore, I think at the beginning of season 3, we'll advance in time, maybe 9 months, maybe even more and instead of flashbacks off the island, we'll have flashbacks to the missing time.

As for another plane crash: I don't see another plane coming down, that just would seem off for the writers in my opinion. But it will be interesting to see how the story advances beyond the second season.

I think by the end of the season we are gonna know what "?"

I think at the end of the season 5 we will still asking the same questions but with another 'clues'. And probably at the beginning of the season 9 we will so old and with enough flashbacks to rewrite the life of each passangers, turist, dharma, the guy who cross the street on season 2 Jack's flashback, to remember what happend in the 1st season. At that time the Sun son will be grow up and leave the island forever!

and then of course Kate in Everybody Hates Hurley takes a shower

i remember that like it was clear as day.. probably cause i rewinded it about 3-4 times to see if i can catch something lol :D

eww.. in real life! you just totally ruined it for me.. she's dating a hobbit, and smokes cigars.. thats nasty lol, thanks for ruining my day Hurmoth :p but.. damn she's so hot.. *changes desktop to Adriana Lima*

Well, new one tomorrow!

I'm in the part of the world where I have no choice but to (patiently :p) await the fruits of XOR or LOL's efforts... Thank god for them!

BUT... after this and next week to weeks of no LOST...

Oh Noes!

I wonder how many series there are going to be, the writers probably don't even know yet.

There should be a mass mission to try and document / brainstorm / tree diagram all events / people etc. If you think of how hard that would be now then a few series down the line and we will need to use a google type system.

*thinks*

There's an idea why not create a database that is searchable ie. characters / flashbacks. (a crazy idea)

 Sorry I ruined it for you. I was listening to the Official Lost Podcast when they interviewed her and she was talking about it.

    • Ignoring the fact that this "colony" kicked the empire of King George's arse during those early years... You are confusing the First Industrial Revolution (which was pulled out of some butt-hurt Brit historian's arse) with the Second Industrial Revolution (aka the Technological Revolution), which transitioned the world from the UK sailing Empire to the USA as a superpower. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Revolution
    • OpenAI announces GPT‑5.6 Sol, its next-generation flagship model beating Claude Mythos 5 by Pradeep Viswanathan Credit: OpenAI OpenAI today announced a limited preview of its new GPT-5.6 model series, which includes the Sol, Terra, and Luna models targeting different price points. GPT-5.6 Sol is the flagship model targeted at demanding reasoning and agentic workloads. GPT-5.6 Terra is positioned as a balanced model for everyday work, featuring performance competitive with GPT-5.5 while being half the cost. GPT-5.6 Luna is the fastest and most affordable model, delivering strong capability at a lower price point. Unlike previous model releases from OpenAI, GPT-5.6 is starting with a limited preview for a small group of trusted partners due to U.S. government restrictions. As expected, OpenAI previewed its plans and the models' capabilities to the U.S. government ahead of launch, and the government asked OpenAI to limit the first wave of access to select partners. OpenAI also mentioned in the official announcement blog post that it does not believe this type of government access process should become the long-term default. OpenAI highlighted that GPT-5.6 Sol comes with a robust safety stack featuring improved protections for higher-risk activity, sensitive cyber requests, and repeated misuse. The company also spent several weeks pressure-testing the system and hardening it against real-world attacks. On the capability side, as expected, GPT-5.6 Sol is OpenAI’s strongest model yet. It delivers better results in agentic performance across coding, biology, and cybersecurity. On the Terminal-Bench 2.1 benchmark, which tests command-line workflows requiring planning, iteration, and tool coordination, GPT-5.6 Sol sets a new record with a score of 91.9%, beating Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5. Additionally, GPT-5.6 introduces a new "max" reasoning effort for even deeper reasoning. The new "ultra" mode uses subagents to accelerate complex work beyond what a single agent can handle. Pricing starts at $5 per million input tokens and $30 per million output tokens for Sol. Terra costs $2.50 for input and $15 for output, while Luna costs $1 for input and $6 for output. GPT-5.6 comes with more predictable prompt caching, including support for explicit cache breakpoints and a 30-minute minimum cache life. Sol will also launch on Cerebras in July at speeds up to 750 tokens per second for select customers. OpenAI plans to make GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna broadly available in ChatGPT, Codex, and the API in the coming weeks.
    • I'm not sure if you are trolling because I saw people saying this with the straight face, but there were no United States of America when industrial revolution started, just United Colonies 🤣 p.s. I'm not British, so I'm not offended.
    • Glad I uninstalled this incredibly buggy browser. Looking at that changelog, they clearly don't test their updates at all.
