Just a guess, but Desmond's love apparently paid a lot of money to someone to look for where he is. I'm guessing they detected the hatch blowing up or whatever happened there.

They found the island. They detected the massive electromagnetic buildup before Desmond blew up the hatch.

Um, what did those men in the end say they found? I don't get it. The island?

this part isn't that confusing...

she probably, with her money, was able to find out what desmond was doing but she couldn't figure out where he was...

they saw the first big electro-mag thing when desmond forgot to hit the button that caused the plane crash but then he did enter it and it turned off so they thought it was a false alarm...this time the magnet was going long enough to allow them to find out where Desmond is....

now obviously she most likely won't be happy when they find him since he's all "blowed up" and all...but yeah...

wow....

did you pay attention at all?

the flash/noise had nothing to do with the numbers...the numbers reset the magnet thing and if not put in it starts freaking out and pulling **** it (ie: the plane crash)

the flash/noise was Desmond using the failsafe and just blowing up the whole damn thing....

I wasn't referring to that. I just thought the finale should have ended better.

My guess is either Desmond's boat, the Island or the explosion.

their computer clearly said electro magnetic abnormality (or something like that)

why are people confused as to what they found? and by calling who they called it's fairly obvious what they were looking for...

Why were the two guys in the mountains speaking portuguese? It makes no sense :s

Yeah, great season finale, a lot of things answered, a lot of questions rising.... Can't wait for the Jimmy Kimmel show tonight, Hugh McIntyre from the hanso foundation is in the show tonight!

How the heck did she know what to be looking for, why did they have to portugues speaking dudes looking for it eskimo style in the middle of nowhere and what the heck does she have to do with anything?!? Gah!

When does season 3 start? :p

HOLY S***.

Monday: B*tchin 24 finale.

Tuesday: Awesome House finale.

Wednesday: Badass Lost finale.

So cool, so cool. What's gonna happen with Jack, Kate, and Sawyer? Is that little b*tch Michael gone for good? I can't wait until Season 3!!

why not?

english isn't everyone's main language...maybe these guys are supposed to be the best at what Desmond's woman wanted and they just happen to be from Portugal or Brazil or something....god forbid they speak their actual language when just talking amongst each other....

How the heck did she know what to be look for? and why did they have to portugues speaking dudes looking for it eskimo style in the middle of nowhere.

It's obviously cold, and the only place I can think of that's cold and has to do with magnetic forces would be one of the two poles. Perhaps that's where one needs to be to detect the effect of the anomaly on the island.

HOLY S***.

Good question. What did they mean when they said "they're going home with us"?

I'm guessing Michael is gone for good. But what did they need Walt for originally just to let him go so easily?

I stated earlier that I thought LOST was over and walked away, in the post I only forget to state it. I would of caught it if I did not walk away thinking it was over. My own fault, also said I would watch that scene again later anyways.

Does anyone remember the chairmen from www.thehansofoundation.com? I think Desmond's woman's father is one of the chairmen. That would provide a connection for her knowing what to look for to find the island, and would provide a reason Desmond ended up on the island (her father was trying to keep him away from her daughter so he used the island to get rid of him). If you visited www.thehansofoundation.com there was a section of the website that spoke of certain parts of the world having electromagnetic anomalies (the island) and that the hanso foundation was doing research about these areas. So if Desmond's woman somehow found out about that through her father, she wuold have the money to find the island without her father knowing.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents, I have no idea what the others have to do with it, but I want to know what they're going to do with Jack, Kate, and Sawyer; and if Locke, Ecko, and Desmond are ok. Lots of questions now...

It's gonna be a long summer.

    • Surprise Execs are dumb. I hope the rehired engineers said were not coming back until we get 2x our salary.
    • Ford execs say they made a mistake when they replaced human engineers with AI by David Uzondu Ford recently announced that over the last three years, it's had to rehire about 350 "gray beard" engineers to mentor younger staff and reprogram diagnostic systems and AI tools that were failing to meet up to quality expectations. The company's VP of vehicle hardware engineering, Charles **** said that leaders overlooked the deep experience of veterans who survived many product cycles. **** admitted that simply replacing them with AI was a huge mistake, and that while AI is "a fantastic tool," it remains "only as good as the information you use to train it." The rehired engineers now run mandatory meetings to troubleshoot vehicles and reprogram automated engineering software and AI tools to prevent glitches before production. These technical specialists hunt for failure points before parts ever reach the plant floor, helping prevent the massive recalls and defects that previously cost the company billions as it aims to cut one billion dollars in expenses this year. In last year's JD Power Quality Survey, an annual study that measures the quality of a car during the first three months of ownership, Ford finished 10th among mainstream brands and scored below the industry average. But this year, JD Power ranked the automaker as the top mainstream brand, placing it above the likes of Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co. Ford attributed this massive improvement directly to the expertise of these returned engineers. Ford's realization that AI cannot magically design and test quality vehicles without senior human oversight is just the tip of the iceberg. When Careerminds looked at companies that conducted AI-driven layoffs, researchers found out that 35.6% of those companies had to rehire more than half of the employees they previously fired. Another 32.7% had to rehire between 25% and 50% of them. In 2024, Sebastian Siemiatkowski, CEO of Klarna, proudly announced that its new chatbot was doing the work of 700 full-time customer service agents. As a result, the fintech company froze hiring and cut hundreds of positions. But by mid 2025, and into 2026, Klarna was scrambling to recruit human agents again because customer satisfaction had plummeted. It turns out, while AI is very good at answering basic questions like how to check an account balance, when faced with complex customer issues that require nuance, the thing usually resorts to the unhelpful, robotic corporate jargon we all know and love.
    • Free AI in IDEs is shifting to paid models Or you know, you could just learn to actually design and code apps, use frameworks to handle the repetitive parts and not use AI at all - and voila... free for life!
    • In a sane world US antitrust laws wouldn't even allow these companies to be in the position to be subjected to EU directives. As you say, better than oligarch nothing.
    • Apple reportedly has a second-generation iPhone Fold planned for 2027 Good grief, Apple hasn't even released a first folding phone and the Apple faithful is already obsessing over the sequel? Seriously people, go out and touch grass... because this level of obsession is borderline stalkery/neurotic.
