"Lost" TV Show - Currently Season 2 (US aired)

Recommended Posts

i think im missing something here.

hanso foundation is a real foundations right? since it advertises it self on ABC during the LOST ad break.

and from previous post there seems have some connections between hanso foundation & LOST am i on the right point?

its fairly obvious its fake...

i mean why else would other corporations actually pay for the spots..(ie: brought to you by Sprite, Jeep, Monster.com, etc.....)

I'm pretty sure it's a fictional organization. Those TV ads are just to encourage people to watch commercials.

exactly....

they're trying to entice people (specifically TIVO/DVR users) to watch the commercials....

edit: just thought of something...

we saw Kelvin take off his mask outside....we saw desmond see him...basically they showed us that nothing was wrong considering Kelvin told Desmond to shoot up with that stuff but Kelvin didn't have to because he was never exposed long enough or whatever....

well since Desmond knew nothing was wrong why did he continue to shoot up with that stuff....the first time we saw him this season when he was getting up didn't we see him inject himself with that stuff?

wtf?

fyi, I don't think the magnet crap pulls any craft onto the island, I think it just messes with the instruments which makes the crafts (planes, boats) crash.

Another question is how could the computers survive such large magnetic fields?

Lastly, WHERE WAS THE SMOKE MONSTER!

Yeah, I thought for sure the Smoke monster was going to be in the Episode, but I was wrong

In the preview, when Jack yelled 'RUN', that's what I thought!

Also, i don't believe the hatch door was blown to the beach because of what desmonde did. I think it was from when the dynamite blew.

If Charley was at the BOTTOM of the shaft and that metal door has to weigh at least 20 lbs and it's at the TOP of the hatch, there's NO way Charlie could have survived the dynamite blow as that door had gone up hundreds of feet...not to mention it was not even on top of the hatch, but off to the side (when Mr. Eko climbed out earlier in the episode). Also, there were several minutes between the dynamite and the white flash. It would have had to go up thousands and thousands of feet.

What about this theory...I think the button has something to do with the ability to be "seen" by tracking equipment. So rather than scrambling if released, it clarifies. Henry seemed very "sure" when telling Michael that no one would find the island. They don't seem to want to be found. Henry also referred to them as the "good" guys. Maybe Dharma is some sort of new colony effort for people of like-mind who somehow object to things in the "real" world. When the button is pushed it scrambles any sort of device that would track...leaving the island untrackable. Desmond's girlfriend said something about him being in "prison". This could have been a reference to him taking a long sail alone for whatever reason. She obviously indicates when he's ready to come back, she'll be waiting for him. Maybe Daddy didn't like this, and as head of Dharma, conveniently led him to the island only to be lost forever. I think when the button wasn't pushed it somehow released waves that allow tracking technology to "see" some sort of trace on Desmond's boat. This would be equipment you would have if sailing alone on your boat in case of emergencies. It seems like he was some sort of serious boatsmen. Even the picture of the two of them show them at a Marina. Why I also think this, is the men in the snow said something about missing the signal again...the first signal may have come the day the plane crashed as Desmond had not pushed the button in time that day either. Were the "snow" men Russian? I thought they were speaking some sort of Spanish...Can someone clarify? I think they were at one of the poles North or South....

I'm pretty sure it's a fictional organization. Those TV ads are just to encourage people to watch commercials.

That's a good point. Not to mention now that other companies see that everyone actually watches for those on ABC, the commercial time price can shoot way up and ABC gets more profit :)

^exactly :). I was thinking that that heading might compensate for the magnetic field, though. Either way, whatever the white flash and hum did might have messed with the magnetic fields and perhaps Michael's direction might not be the right one... we'll know. IN MANY MONTHS. :(

Do you think Penelope's rich father set Desmond up with Libby giving him a boat and them trapping him on the island on purpose to keep him away from Penelope? I believe her father has a lot to do with the people running that project.

Penelope probably suspected her father was instrumental in keeping them apart, she knew about the Dharma project (from her fathers involvement) with researching electromagnetic anomalies around the world, so she paid those two guys to sit around and wait for the detection of the electromagetic anomaly so she could find him again.

Libby being an agent of Penelope's father: setting up Desmond with the boat, and also following Hurley after he won the lottery with the numbers is an interesting possibility.

i agree with you here.... i think her father is one of the directors of the hanso foundation. She also made a big point of saying "i have money, i can find anything" when she tracked Desmond down after he was released from prison. She then said in the letter that she was his one true love, so my guess is she knows what her father is involved with (read: island experiment) and has assigned the 2 scientists at the earth monitoring station to monitor for electromagnetic anomalies because she knows about what her father & hanso are up to on the island.

Given the facts so far, it seems if the numbers are not entered, the magnet kicks off and "brings in" new people to the island. It almost like a bermuda triangle, the magnetic power of the island screws with navigation devices etc keeping them off the radar and causing anything caught up in it to become "lost".... This could also explain Desmonds circular trip in the boat, he followed a compass bearing and went round in a circle... i'm pretty sure that bearing was the one given to Michael and Walt as they left in the boat......

The "another false alarm" reference (made by the guys in the polar research centre) most likely refers to the previous time that the button wasnt pushed in time, i think it was Locke that managed to get the numbers in, the guys in the station will have seen this, but due to the termination of the process they "missed it".

A side note: I noticed that Kelvin was the Army guy who let Sayid go free after they made him torture his general in his flashback.

Desmond found the note after he first opened his book when he was about to shoot himself. His girlfriend knew he was heading to prison even though he lied. One of the things she said to him when she first met him at the stadium was did you read your book, an intention to see if he got the note or not. He didn't read it, so he didn't get it.

Well, I guess we now know why Flight 815 crashed, so that's one major question answered.

But who is behind the whole island? Who are that group of people - "The Others".

"We're the good people.." just don't make sense! Ack, season3, season3, season3..

^^ Or it's very well planned, maybe libby was on that plane to get away and that guy (K-lib from the OC) pulled the plane down on purpose. I have no idea how to spell the guys name, nor do I have any recollection of what his actors name or character's name is in Lost :s

    • Too late for a slightly older computer I had that didn't meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11 but had great hardware. I installed ubuntu on that thing and gave to a friend's kid.
