"Lost" TV Show - Currently Season 2 (US aired)

One thought; everything that is going on could be similar to the book Sphere, by Michael Crichton, in that the people are manifesting everything that is going on. And Michael is actually doing the talking on the computer, just like Sphere.

Also, I just noticed Wikipedia has an entry for the show with some interesting observations.

we were learning about those philosiphers in philosiphy class and I was thinking to myself ...both these characters are in the story. Another coinciding philosipher with these 2 is Hobbes, not sure if hes inocrperated somehow.

Oh my god! i can't beleive no-one is acknowledging the guy's post a few pages back about how the "incident" could have been a plane crash - it makes so much sense. Maybe interfering with the computer lets off a huge electromagnetic wave that disrupts planes and other things like whatever desmond was using for his "round the world" trip. Then desmond tried to fiddle around with it and made flight 815 crash.

The creators have said we'll find out why the plane crashed sometime this season and its as good a bet as any at this point that it's got something to do with the computer in the bunker.

(Y) that sounds legit to me, but we will just have to find out...

But why does the plane have the Dharma logo if its just an accident by the Electromagnetic waves

But just remeber that inside the hatch, well when sayid (sp?) and jack went underneath and found that the concrete was as thick as the walls used to contain the core at chernobyl, so whatever is in there obviously is not ment to be out.

And what happened to teh 'security system' anyway?

the video appears to be very old though. desmond even says he saw the video when he got there if i remember correctly, which has been much longer than the 815 survivers. plus, didnt they ask desmond about the missing section? i cant remember if he ran out by then or not. but it does seem to suggest that the film strip is much older and the 'incident' would be an older incident before flight 815 crashes.

oh yeah its definatley older than the crash, i wasn't saying that the crash was "the" incident, just another occurance, like the incdident refered to on tape, that happened as a result of fiddling around with the computer.

i was only putting out a theory as i was jus taken by the guy saying about how it could have been a plane crash. i don't really hav any theory as to how it all happened - kind of thought i could leave that part to someone else :)

besides, micheal was using the computer to talk to walt and nothing happened (that we know of) so may be a flawed theory in first place.

my theory is that them entering the numbers is keeping the electromagnet running therefore somehow keeping the island in existence and that the "incident" was that they tried just leaving the magnet running normally but it failed and the workers died when the island was no longer stable. the problem was choice, it needs the constant randm manually input in order to properly function... thats why it cant be automated. (note: lots of my theory is derived from the Kentaro Washio's guys talking about this disclosure project... **** makes sense hah)

I want LOST back!!!

Alright, I'm better now :D These long breaks that they're taking is really starting to get on my nerves though

I tend not to think about it.

The awesome part was that I discovered lost when season 2 started, so I had tons of stuff to watch :p

    • I have a older F4-210 NAS, it is pretty basic, the CPU is not the fastest by a long way and only 1GB of ram, but it works fine. I don't understand the need for A.I in a NAS. It seems like A.i is being shoved into everything, if we like it or not. i will stick to my old Terramsater NAS, thankfully the OS is not being updated. Also, got myself a small NAs built using a Raspberry Pi 5. iy usesd less energy, so stays on all the time. As for the unit above, if it is as reliable as my old Terramaster Nas, then it will be a good unit.
    • Gemini in Google Sheets can now help you debug and fix formula errors by David Uzondu Google has started rolling out an update to Gemini in Google Sheets that allows the AI to diagnose and fix formula errors in one click, as long as your Workspace admin has Gemini for Workspace in Sheets turned on. According to Google, the new feature can handle pretty much everything from basic arithmetic to very complex calculations. This ability to debug formula errors comes about two years after Google introduced basic formula generation with Gemini in Sheets. To create a formula with Gemini in Sheets, you open a spreadsheet on your computer and click Ask Gemini in the top right corner. You can also enter an equals sign in any cell and use a shortcut like Ctrl + Alt + G on Windows and Chrome OS, or Command + Ctrl + G on macOS. Once you open the side panel, you write a natural language prompt using your sheet references. For example, you can ask Gemini to divide goals by games, or to find cell C1 in range D:G. If for some reason, the formula Gemini generated doesn't work, or maybe you wrote the formula yourself, you can troubleshoot the issue directly inside the grid. When a cell shows an error message, you hover over it and click "Fix". This action opens the side panel where Gemini analyzes the data structure and automatically applies the fixes when they are ready. You can cancel the process at any time by clicking stop in the side panel. Image via Google Google has been pushing its Gemini integration in Google Sheets for a while now, steadily moving AI features from side panels directly into user spreadsheets. Last year, the Mountain View giant shipped an =AI() Function in Sheets that allowed users to run translation and text generation directly inside cells instead of using the side panel interface. Earlier this year, the company announced that Gemini in Sheets had reached near-human expert performance, achieving a 70.48% success rate on the SpreadsheetBench dataset.
    • I get what you are saying, If i go onto the Instagram site, it says log in with Facebook, but they are not allowed to link my account with Instagram until I do that. Maybe in the U.S, they can link them, but Privacy is not a thing in the U.S. the way things are going,l won;t be any better in the U.K.

    • Exactly, this is just the beginning. I hope that by that time, our inept politicians devise something like a Universal Basic Income, because unemployment and poverty rates will skyrocket otherwise. And believe me, robots that perform physical work aren't a matter of IF, but WHEN. No career is truly safe from AI/robots, it's just a matter of time.
