Thank you :)

A little bug: When I first entered the program, font size was around 900 :p

586229633

Bah, my mistake. The US uses a period in the font size and other countries use a comma. Unfortunately, the default font size of 9.75 is picked up as 975 in your country. I should have changed it to an even 10, but forgot to. I will repackage it now. Sorry about that.

edit: New package is up, redownload if you wish, though only the default font setting has changed so no one gets super large font at first run anymore.

0.5.1 released in response to lingering printing bugs:

--------

v 0.5.1

--------

Released 7/17/2005

- Removed "print preview" option until further notice

- Fixed: "Print" would give an error

I will eventually implement print preview again, but, right now, it consistently sends NexPad to the back of the z-order and I believe it's the fault of the framework. Until it's working 100%, I simply won't activate it. Sorry

Any chance getting this ported over for us nixers?

As jtchange said, you'd have to compile with mono and I don't know enough about mono to know if it would work. I don't usually share my source code, but if it's something you wish to do for yourself, I would be willing to send you a copy of the source.

16260 downloads  :o

I just saw that too. Kind of shocking. I NEVER expected to have that many people download it, at all. That's more than all NexNote versions and all past NexPad versions combined. Thanks guys and girls. The app is getting ripped to shreds at BetaNews, but it's nice to know that not everyone hates .net apps.

Don't make that stop you developing it. It's great, we love it.

I for one, am a great fan of .NET apps, what is wrong with them anyways?

586244332

First run, after a reboot or memory dump, is always a little slow so people go nuts over that. That's really the only problem with it.

Thank you. I won't stop development on it simply because I use it everyday and it's nice having control over how good of an app I get to use.

Thanks.. Nice program.. :)

Well anyway I have one wierd problem with it. When I launch it it 'jams' the program/place where it is launced. For example:

1. When I start it from the shortcut on the desk top there is aferwards a hourglass beside the cursor when I move it on top of the desktop and it goes away only when I close the program.

2. If start it from the quicklaunch then it (taskbar, quicklaunch and start menu) is jammed as long as the notepad is running.

3. Same with the file explorer. It stays unusable as long as the program is running.

Has anyone else had similar problem or then it is just my computer.

Perhaps it is the NET runtimes that causes it or something....

So otherwise keep up the good work..

get the source from bangbang and compile it with Mono :p

not sure that would work, but it would be pretty sweet if it was cross-platform to an extent

That has to be something going on locally. I have never even heard of any apps causing that issue before. I wish I could help more but I honestly have no idea what's causing that.

i never got around to saying thanks for this bangbang this app rocks and i cant believ i never used it before.

if it only would start faster it would be great either way it > notepad and all other notepads i've used

kudos on the great work we await 1.0 Final :p

Thanks. The slow startup is attributed ot the fact that .net compiles the program on run so it takes a little bit. It usually starts up quicker after the first run on a fresh boot.

Thanks for the kind words, man. I'm very appreciative of how receptive people here can be.

    • My wish list is: A trailer for Final Fantasy VII part 3 and a proper look at Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Not happening, but I'd kill for would be another game of any genre in the Frostpunk world and another game in the Detroit: Become Human world.
    • I tried Wino-Mail and had the same issue with it that I have with New Outlook: My two centurylink.net email accounts (one of which is my primary email account) refuse to work with either one, and sometimes refuse to even log in, even though ALL the relevant information is accurate. Thunderbird does not have this problem, so I'll stick with what works, thank you.
    • For me it has everything feature wise that I want. But boy the app sucks big time. This and Teams. Ever since they made the transition to WebView it has been slow AF. I mostly use both apps in the browser now because of too much memory being used by these 2 apps. Hoping that native versions are being worked upon.
    • Nearly 70% of Steam users now run Windows 11 by Taras Buria The May 2026 Steam Hardware & Software Survey results are now available on the official Steam website, showing Windows 11's continuous growth among the gaming audience. As of early June 2026, nearly 70% of all participants reported having a Windows 11-powered PC, while Windows 10's market share is steadily declining. According to Valve, in May 2026, Windows 11 increased its market share to 69.76% (+2.02 points), while Windows 10 dropped to 23.99% (-1.64 points). 64-bit Windows 7 is still showing up in Valve's reports, and apparently, about 0.07% of all survey participants still use the 17-year-old operating system. Valve no longer updates its client for Windows 7, but it still can access the platform, so the Windows 7 holdouts can stay away from newer Windows versions. Overall, 93.85% of all users run Windows (+0.38 points), while Linux is second with 3.99% (-0.53 points). macOS is third with at 2.16% (+0.15 points). The most popular Linux flavor is Arch Linux (0.35%), while macOS 26.4.1 is currently the dominant macOS release. On the hardware side, the most popular picks include an Intel processor (53.94% against AMD's 46.06%) with six cores (28.02%, -0.6 points), 16 GB of memory (41.14%, -0.28 points), and an NVIDIA graphics card (72.42%, with AMD having 19.13% and Intel 8.05%). The most popular graphics card on Steam is the desktop NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (3.85%, -0.14 points), while the laptop RTX 4060 is second with 3.77%, and the RTX 3050 is third with 3.10%. The average amount of VRAM is 8GB (25.89%), and the dominant display resolution is the classic 1920x1080 pixels (51.89%, -0.32 points). As usual, you can find more details from the latest survey on the official website. The results for April 2026 are available here.
