:ninja: dude...there are several ways out of this...

1) take a crash course...kaplan or princeton or other LIVE courses....that is if you have the cash... if not....then go to number 2.

2) get books with questions and do lots and lots of questions...and read as many passages as u can and practice practice practice...

3) PRACTICE SOME MORE!!l :pinch:

newayz guud luck my good buddy :)

yeah just take as many practice tests as you can. I know the ACT was pretty easy, it was all the stuff we learned 3+ years ago. just relax and watch your time when you take it.

Start reading, taking crash courses. Get a little more out of yourself. Why exactly did you expect to get into a university when you don't know any math and have horrible language skills?

Take a practice test (they have them in pub libraries). Aim for around 1000 to get into a state school. Note that 1000 on the SAT is approximately 62.5%, or an F. Also, to put it into perspective, you would get 1000 points if you aced half the test, and just didn't fill anything out on the other half.

i could do the CC, but i want to be a Special Education teacher, so here is my collage plan, go to CC and get my AA then transfer over to a 4 yr universty and get my BA, then after that i need to get my teaching cert. and my Special ED cert. , then after that i should probley get my masters,

however, my backup plan for this is to do something in the adult flim area, and iam serious, but if i tell my mom that she'll flip sh!t

edit: THEY TIME YOU, OMG, LOL, I"LL NEVER FINSH

i just took the SATs on saturday (9th) it was easier than i thought, maybe i did bad and thought i did good. BTW all questions can be answered without a calculater and they only go up to geometry. The math was really easy for me, but those stupid bread:crumb type questions ruined it. Oh well you do know you can take it more than one time though. oh and where i live, in march they are sending out a new SAT with an essay question on it, not sure if it applies to you but id take it as many times as i could before march.

I recommend taking some course or buying some books or software to prepare. I'm currently taking a course, and it does help. The teach you a lot of tips and stuff... they said it's pretty easy to get a 600 on the math part. I learned that the math part is divided into sections of difficulty, and about the first 2/3 are the easiest ones to do. Since you don't get marked down for leaving blanks on the math part, you shouldn't guess beyond the first 2/3 if you don't know how to do them, because you will only get marked down and lose points if you are wrong.

One of the best ways to prepare is to take a lot of practice tests. It should get easier with each try. I have this big book "10 Real SATs," which includes 10 real, full SATs that were previously used that you can practice with. I think you can even download a full practice test. http://www.collegeboard.com

Keep in mind that colleges look at other stuff besides your SAT score. If you have a good GPA, they'll let your SAT score slide a bit. Extracurricular activities and stuff also.

Good luck! :)

Meh, tomorrow will be my 3rd P(ractice) SAT to take and I'm a sophmore. So far i've gotten a 1200 out of 1600 a year ago. I've still got about 2 more chances to take it untill the real thing.

Try and get into SAT Prep courses man.

I took the SAT this past Saturday. The math section was surprisingly easy considering I'm not good at math. Verbal was average difficulty, but I wasn't really worried about Verbal, I just needed to raise my Math score which I hopefully did :)

Don't stress out over the SAT, trust me. Don't even think about it and when the day comes, you'll do pretty good because you'll be nice and calm and not worried about getting a bad score.

Some colleges (ones that aren't in the midwest mostly) don't take ACT for admission.

Sorry, but I'm afraid you are wrong there. Almost all colleges accept ACT's, though they prefere the SAT's.

Right. But most of the prestigious ones don't care about your ACT score.

Btw, Hottoast, you really weren't paying attention to college enrollment, were you?

I wish they had things like SATs in Canada for universities to determine how smart you are. I would have guaranteed entrance anywhere.

In school my average test mark was ussually around 95%. Where as with assignments I didn't do 50% first off, then the other 50% I did a slack ass job and it pulled down my average.

By the end of the year I ussually had a high 70% average or low 80%. So I didn't qualify for any scholarships or anything. Totally gayed.

Haha. Well best of luck to you. I'll be taking it soon too.

But still, your teachers/peers/counselors should've been reminding you about the SATs your entire high school career... pretty hard to miss.
