does anyone get this random "thump" noise when there is nothing playing? it sounds like the sound it makes when you switch inputs. my soundcard is audigy 2 zs connected via coaxial.

it happens to me too, someone is probably flipping a switch or turning on a fan elsewhere in the house, thats when it happens to me. I think its because my room is incredibly ungrounded/unstable in terms of electrical lines

does the light on the control centre ever turn off? probably the reason why its warm around that area.

My set arrived today. They are quite alot bigger than they look in the pictures. The control centre is huge! Can't wait to set them up.

Mine also have non-fixed speaker wires.

Just RMA'ed my set today. My right speaker died. I only had to send the control pod in and I get a brand new set! :D Awesome!

I have the Logtiech Z-2200's right now, and I'm just wandering if it's worth the upgrade to the 5500's. Right now I think the quality of the speakers are amazing. The sub has 120 Watts RMS, and 2 speakers with 40 Watts RMS. If anyone has heard these two before could you give me some input? Thanks

ISneakySneaky, my friend has those and the sound is much more clearer with the 5500's.. I would upgrade :)

hi everyone i just brought these speakers (logitech Z-5500) but the sound keeps cutting out and i get wierd letters in the control panel thing like the volume would say 22222222222299999999999992222222222222 after like 2mins to 5mins since i turn them on i have the audigy 2 zs card with the latest drivers i have change all the setting in that audigy2 zs but still the sound cuts out would that mean they are defective (i mean brokenish) i am taking them back to get the same model but different ones (nwer ones) i just want to know if yous know the problem.

also i have the standard green, orange, black cords in the pc sound card no digital cords or other cords u been talking about. and all speakers worked in music and games until that problem.

I got my new set and wow, huge improvments. The bass seems more responsive, and the Control Pods screen is much cleaer. Hiss issue fixed, and REAL SPEAKER CABLE! Very impressed Logitech. I plan a Re-Review soon.

You could just say there is hiss and RMA the control pod. They send you a new set.

I'm not so much interested in the speaker "sound quality", I'm more interested in the bass. Is it worth upgrading a system just for the bass aspect? I don't know how stable the 5500's are at louder volumes.

My Sound Card (Wich is built in audio) has S/PDIF in & out ports.

I assume these will work with the speakers, is there any way I can make sure?

I'm wondering if you're supposed to get the 96-24 on the control pod when there's a digital connection and playing a movie with a dolby digital or DTS signal.

Can anyone let me know? I'm just curious.

Im looking to get this and id rather have speaker wire instead of a rca line.

I currently use the z-5300, and it has rca and I needed to buy a cheap ass rca extension, the wires are like paper thin, and I got a **** load of high quality monster fusion speaker cable left over..

Also what benefits will I get since it's using speaker cable? I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with that term.
