j.r.l.
Hi people, I'll show how to make ur computer get better response times and better startup. What we're going to do? Process Idle Tasks. Something that processes tasks that only load when your computer is idle (not being used). Here, at my home. the computer is always doing something but we still have to make it process the tasks. Alright. Go to the start menu and hit "Run". From that menu, run the command "rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks". Just CTRL+C here and CTRL+V in the RUN window. That will process the idle tasks that show up in C:\%systemroot%\Prefetch\Layout.ini *%systemroot%: probably WinNT or Windows or just Win. Note: Processing Idle Tasks WILL take a lot of CPU as the computer needs to defrag the boot sector (which is impossible in a normal defrag) and such things. Enjoy :)
