welcome to Neowin

try install the sound card physically first and after leave windows find basic drivers, in this manner you know which is in control panel\system propertyes\hardware\device manager\sound video and game controllers right click on it and in tab drivers find name of driver then go to creative website and download it or still look link below <kx project drivers is fine> , (Y)

 whats the model number of the card m8?

as far as i know, soundblaster dont make a live! 24 bit card.

only the audigy and audigy 2 and upwards are 24 bit.

the card does exist.

http://www.soundblaster.com/products/live24bit/

but, haven't found any drivers to help you with it yet.. ill keep looking.

cheerz,

P.S. You could try the Creative Software AutoUpdate, maybe it will detect your card and/or detect a driver that works properly with it.

here's the link:

gl mate.

P.S.2. Also check out as pointed out by Winnerboy the KX proyect webpage. Im way more comfortable with those drivers than I ever was with Creative Drivers or support. IMHO.

regular live! drivers didn?t work

i tried with the audigy/audigy2 drivers but didn?t work (it checks if there?s a audigy chip installed and of course don?t find it)

can?t use autoupdate because windows xp detects the card as generic multimedia card.

i sent an email to creative but they didnt answer me yet...

that?s all for now...

thanks

Here is the 2k/XP driver from the dell CD!  Enjoy.

I can't believe they would release this card and not offer a downloadable driver!  DOWNLOAD IT HERE!

Remember, child, that the Sound Blaster 24-bit model was a partnership with Dell. The drivers exist solely upon these pages:

Hi all, I found the retail CD on emule and now my Soundblaster Live 24! works perfectly. The filenames are:

Soundblaster Live! 24-bit (SB0410) Retail CD.bin

Soundblaster Live! 24-bit (SB0410) Retail CD.cue

If you have problems finding the files tell it to me and I?ll post the elinks.

Cheers!

Hey amaduain, I'm having the exact same problem you were having and none of the suggestions are working. I can't find those files you posted about, either. Do you mind posting them?

Thanks!
