Did you even bother to read any of the posts in this thread, or did you just go by the title?

AFAIK, your's is the only negative post I've seen on this thread. For most people, the changes have improved their online experience.

just did the guide, very snappy. I seem to get a lag when I hit enter after typing the url but once its found the site everything loads almost instantly

I'm a great ISP as it is (4mbps Down / 500kb/s Up) and this adds even more speed to my internet browsing. It esspecially is nice when I have a little over 15 tabs opened up.

Another great tweak if anyone is interested would be to check out: http://www.moox.ws/tech/mozilla/

moox offers CPU specialized builds that make a huge difference in program speed.

Not to bash, but theres been a plugin has been around since October. It does all of the things listed in this "guide". Been using it for a while, not exactly a secret.

OK, did it. I'll see if it helps. Basically doubling or tripling several values, and changing others from 'false' to 'true'

EDIT: I changed the setting, closed and reopened Firefox, but don't notice a difference in speed.
