[DEFINITIVE] Half-Life 2 Thread

Card numbers are not magically marked as fraudluent. Another fact is that the people who post with swear words littered throughout their messages tend to be those that 'well lol might have tried to use the free cz exploit BUT ITS NOT FRAUD'.

wtf you bitching about?  You only had like 500 years to pre-order (and pre-load) it.  Now that HL2 is getting rave reviews everyone wants it NOW.  No wonder there are problems.

All I know is that I am playing it and LOVING it. hehehehe.

Gotta agree with the pre-loading thing, although my friend pre-ordered the DVD version, and has installed it, but cannt connect to steam to authorize... very bad show.

Well he is not the only one....Steam was working for months, somehow it is not connecting today...i wonder why ???? so strange who could have predicted that! Cannot finish the preload since this morning, left it all day came back from work and was still at 99%....tried to connect again and not working, the fuking day where is supposed to work and it's not...

Yes my internet is working, every other application is working..no it's not my firewall, no i don't have a router etc..

Um.. wtf? I was trying to legally purchase a game. I never used this credit card for anything related to Steam before. About the idiots who tried the CZ CC exploit, they are jackasses and I hope they get in trouble.

wonder if any of you can answer my question, I work/play on two different computers. I've got steam installed on both, now, I've purchased hl2 and all that, but would I be able to play it on both computers? not at the same time mind you.

It will say that if another person used that card number, or if you mistyped a date and it says declined, then go back and retry that same card again.

Also if someone used that card number, and their account information was marked as being fraudulent, that card will have been banned. Is it a visa/amex/mastercard/discover...call them?

THREADS MERGED

Okay okay, this is too much reading for me. 9-10 hours ago I made a post on the latest page (page 26) I think and I've been scanning through the various pages after that. I just read a whole page 65, pressed next and now 101 is the latest page. Is this really necessary to merge all these threads together, I have no idea where I was originally - and come on guys, stop posting the exact same replies:

- Servers are down

- Servers are busy

- No manual

- Authentication is a bad idea

- Downloading this, downloading that

- etc. etc.

(admittedly [ignore spelling] I've made replied, but now I'm totally lost from where I was and where I am)

I honestly think we've all got the point now. Stop complaining and come up with something new (seperate threads for problems, server stuff, download stuff, etc. etc. would be far more managable). Now, I bet that when I post this a few more pages would of been created ;)

Just my opinion guys - please feel free to tell me where to go,

I know it's early, but I'm already stuck in half life 2.  I'm in the Route Kanal, in the place where it looks like you need to go through a tunnel with red lights.  The problem is I cant figure out how to reach the tunnel (it is too high).

You have to increase the water height from the other side by dropping down on some pipes and turn the red valve.

Good Luck!

Jim

Update - where..? (with all the merged threads I can't keep up).

Hopefully the update is to counter the crack which has been made already. That'll teach the ******s, probably been up all night making a crack, finally gets it to work, then valve just change something. That'd be great

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
