Kupo-Cheer
Found from countless threads being spammed on the steampowered.com forums: A link to this particular thread I found it in: http://www.steampowered.com/forums/showthr...threadid=172895 This guys asking for it to be unlocked through steam now since the street date has apparently been broken, but I doubt they will with just a few days left till its release. Kupo-Cheer
Ironically I don't think he can even play it still since it needs to be activated through steam I'm pretty sure, and that activation wont be allowed till the actual release date. Still, what I wouldn't give for a copy of Half-Life 2 in my hands right now :( ...

aldo
We'll know if this is true if it gets leaked onto the internet. I'm sure if it's true it'll be out very, very shortly as Steam is hysterically easy to crack. Or so I heard.

Chode
Isn't HL2 meant to be 6 cd's, not 5?
RGSPro
:woot: ive been waiting years for this... I remember the time of the leak, i wrote an article that got deleted on accident by a crappy host I had at the time. I recently found it on archive.org. Check out what it was like if your in the mood for a peak. http://www.gaming-zone.net/hl2leak.php :pinch:

Well, theres still a chance that its a fake anyway. Looking at the picture again I realize that every component of that could have been faked. stevonw
is there not a DVD version because why have 6 Cd's when you could have 1 DVD????? Almost everyone has a DVD-Rom/DVD-RW would it save them money because they only need 1 Disc or give the option for a DVD Version or the 6 Cd version???? acidic-e-
Notice the name of the image? hl2installing. Maybe that 6th cd is actually in his cd rom being installed?

Aviator747
The non collectors edition is on DVD too. Thats what I am getting from EB games. I rather it over the 6 cd version. ;)
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted November 11, 2004 Veteran Share Posted November 11, 2004 All that thread possibly proves on the steam forums, and this picture for that matter, is that this guy, and possibly some other guy (they say there is another thread at rage3d although you cannot get to it atm), have the game in their possession. They are probably both workers from EBgames or something, who thought they would get themselves some attention and/or stir up some controversy by posting pics. I hardy consider this the street date being broken. Just my opinion. nothing less. nothing more.

TogaForComfort
Doesn't matter, it has to be activated over Steam. And yes im sure it can be hacked but all it takes is a steam update and the hack is null and void
TheLegendOfMart
incorrect, the hacked version of CS:S uses a steam emulator, can do the same thing with HL2, since it uses the same engine/calls
