26.5MB & German (I think). Is it worth downloading? (any English versions?)

It is in English when you download it (and also the readme)

I'm not gonna try working with a makeshift multiplayer, I'll just wait till the real mods come out.

I've been playing on a few servers. After you die once, you cant die unless by an explosion. There's quite a bit of lag,and the game will crash if you rocket at someone's feet. Fun though!

screw HLDM, Co-Op mode was foudn in HL2, run a server with that, need to find the forum that had the info about it though, as it wasnt steam or neowin forums.

i think they are crashing not just shutting down. HL2DM (as well as HL2Co-Op) are still unstable

No Servers for HL2-DM

I can't stay on a server long enough to play because they keep shutting down :(

Ok question guys.  My gf came home from work today and said that one of the guys she works with said he got the HL2 CE version but when he went to install it he had to D/L the entire 4+gig of HL2 in order to play.  Is this true?  I was under the impression that the DVD would have the full game and the extra's as well.  wtf?

he bought it off steam if you buy the dvd you get it all off there and you just have to activate it off steam

hmm, it's running late :(

Planet Half-Life has an update from Erik Johnson at Valve stating that the patch may be delayed a day for additional testing:

We're still working through some testing on this release. It might be something we'll want to hold for another day and release tomorrow.

Also, I have received a number of emails asking if the texture management fix will also work for stuttering problems in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. I have emailed Gary McTaggart about this and will post an update as soon as I hear back. I am guessing that Vampire has the same inherent problem based on the reports I'm seeing, but I do not know what kind of arrangement Troika Games has with Valve as far as receiving Source engine updates.

Just thought I would post 2 screenshots from my 100+ screenshot folder from HL2 (hey it was a magic moment I had to take screenies :D)

Fine, I removed the pictures...as if the heading wasn't big enough! I don't know how to link them because I have no user space - that's why I added them to the message.

Oh well, they've gone - go back to your happy land if you must.

So I bought the game Saturday and completed it today.

although i'm pleased with it, i feel the plot wasn't very good at all. there wasn't very much character development, and the story was too basic. I no longer felt like I was 'on my own'.

The friendly characters where annoying to say the least...i can't even count the number of times they'd just stand in a doorway stopping me getting out.

Graphically amazing, but gameplay-wise, not very taxing at all :(

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.
