Now I don't mean what you think is the greatest album of all time, because I personally think that is Michael Jackson - Thriller, but I don't really listen to that. I mean what is an album you listen to like once a week that you have had for years but you just love. Mine would probably be Stone Temple Pilots - Core, though Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire is on the same level to me.

Rap/rock isn't dead. Look at Quarashi....their new album is awsome. Insolence has a pretty good album too.

I don't care what's trendy...I don't care what other people listen to..or what they think. I listen to what I want to listen to. I listen to rap, rock, metal, pop..and even country...that's the way it should be...because no matter what genre it is, it's all art. And the people that make the music have more talent than me..and probably more talent than anyone that's gonna read this...that's why they have albums...and fans....and record labels....

Racist much? Did it ever occur to you that perhaps "white ppl" listen to rap because they enjoy listening to it?

No Racism, No Threatening, No Victimization or otherwise Hateful posts

Oh well...

It's just sad to see someone make such a blanket statement about an entire race that isn't even true. Yes, I'm white. Yes, I listen to rap. No, I don't do it to fit in. I prefer rap over rock/metal/etc. How is that trying to "fit" in? Around here rock is what's most popular anyway.

But to each his own I suppose

Quick question to the rap lovers.. what's your fav albums?

Personally the ONLY rappers I have the least bit of respect for are Tupac and Nas.. out side of that they all are absolutely horrendous and produce totally meaningless songs just to make money off of stupid people who like to fit in...regardless of race.

Guess I'm in the minority here. If it's well done, then i listen to it and respect it, regardless of which genre it is. I love rock, some rap i love, I breathe jazz. If it's art, it's art.

LuZZo, to your question,

All-time favorite Rap Album: Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back

Creeping up on PE is: The RZA - Bobby Digital

My problem with Rap is my problem with Rock. The best stuff isn't played on the radio. Commercial Rap and Commerial Rock is mass produced feces.

And Rock artists don't produce totally meaningless songs just to make money off of stupid people who like to fit in...reguardless of race?

You obviously missed the point in my former post. It had less to do with race than to do with fitting in. Who's to say people listen to one genre of music over another because they want to fit in? And therefore, if one would listen to rap over rock to fit in, whos to say they wont listen to rock over rap to fit in? Or Punk, or Techno, or Pop?

Maybe you dislike certain types of music, but that doesn't give you the liberty to singlehandedly diss every single person who listens to it by stereotyping them into an unfair and unrealistic stereotype that you think is true but don't bother actually checking out.

I know someone who listens to Punk who is a stupid, whiny, loser. Do I go around saying everyone who listens to Punk is just whiny? or a loser? or stupid? No...I don't. Because it isn't true, and I know it. I don't just automatically make the assumption.

Just because you stick your hand in a bag of candy and pull out a tootsie roll [which you happen to hate] doesn't mean that the next time you stick your hand in that same candy bag you wont come out with a lollipop [that you love]

Make sense? Don't classify the whole bag by one piece of candy.

kbs, i had to read that, and now i have a headache :dead:

not saying that rap is total garbage or anything :ponder: , but we people that hate it have to deal with it everywhere we go. we hear people listening to it on the street, it is all over the radio, and Mtv is all Rap, R&B , and POP. MTv and that little **** Carson and his stupid show TRL, all they do is play pop and rap.

i personaly like Metallica, and now i am really stuck because once i listen to all of their cds i don't know where to go, what other artists to look for, because all they play is crap i don't like.

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
