Alabama Judge at it again

Recommended Posts

Like Fred said, whether certain judges are elected or not varies from state to state. Federal (our national) judges are appointed.

"The Ten Commandments can help a judge know the difference between right and wrong."

This judge should know better, that he is supposed to judge the laws in accordance with what the legislature has passed and what the state constitution says, not what the 10 Commandments say. Just because the 10 Commandments say to "Keep Holy The Sabbath" or "Don't Commit Adultery" doesn't mean that it is illegal and someone should be punished by a judge for it--if it is not the law. The 10 Commandments don't spell out what the penalties are for our modern laws (in this case driving an automobile while over the legal blood alcohol level) are or how DUI even applies to the 10 Commandments or a lot of other cases in general.

Beyond stupid, it's appalling.

I am glad the judge is standing up for what is right. He is upholding his oath and we need more judges like him!  :)

Welcome to reality. :(

I fear for people who take it apon themself to seperate morals from truth. granted the whole ten commandments on the robe thing is a bit in your face. but whats degradeing America is not people who envolk gods name into things. Its people who do not grow up being told right from wrong by there parents or there communities as was done useing churches, mosks, in a younger generation.
